I have the same model grinder 1998, had it since brand new with 3000hrs now. the safest place to be is behind that door! lol Also, you can see right up close to your work. The operator did an outstanding job! no need to go deeper since the stump was rotten and it's a grassy/weed area. BTW, I've hit asphalt and cement with my 1102, with "green teeth waresharps" and the 110hp of the the cummins 4bt motor it still grinds fast and doesn't slow down! now when it comes to granite boulders imbedded in stumps, that's another story! lol -Happy grinding!

Greetings from Italy! A couple of years ago I had a big pine cut in my backyard. They used a similar tool to remove its big stump (and another smaller pre-existing one), but it was smaller and "portable" in size. They did a wonderful job - the grass started to grow again on the soil quite rapidly indeed.

I agree should have gone much deeper. I would have straightened the grinder to get a more heads on approach, and it helps to have a spotter on the other side to help you get as close to the curb as possible. Other than that its a pretty awesome machine.

Those teeth are dull now after hitting the curb, that's why it's better to have a wireless remote and not operate behind a control tower!
@CT2507
@CT2507 8 жыл бұрын
nahh...the teeth don't need to be that sharp for this kind of work. they operate mainly through brute force. they are smashing more than actually cutting. and he didn't go down into the stone, just grazing it a bit.

THIS is a Dead stump , "aged and dry,"[[[[[[[ now ''''''''''''''there would be a difference with a stump that is full of its natural juice or cambium layer. how deep would a stump cutter have to grind downward to effect the life of a active live stump? do all stumps have the ability to regrow if they are not ground deeper with a stump cutter. , example some larger stumps = Have larger surface roots , would those surface roots need to be ground down with a stump cutter , or need the extra treatment of Epsom salt or salt and vinegar 7% then covered with dark plastic to avoid sunlight/rainwater on the roots /stump.etc. stump cutters do amazing effects on stumps yet long term ,or variety of tree ,age, raised roots. long term ? can you take the time to explain the long term effect of stump cutting a active live stump.with the grinds of wood chips off a green wood or live active stump , need the natural wet wood chip debris removed to yard waste bins , then the ground stump be covered with heavy not wood chip'd dirt to block its regrowth. do some varieties of fresh live stump -wood chips have the ability to grow more small trees, even a florist shop which may use fresh cut tree twigs in a floral display knows the green wood twigs can grow roots to be replanted. eg even a red twig dogwood etc

Seems to me that the stump remover machine is pointed in a direction to throw wood chips, dirt, and possibly stones in the direction on on-coming cars. If this machine cannot be positioned so that the cutting blade is parrelel to the sidewalk, then another machine that can position it self should have been used. Operator doesn't seem to be real smart walking next to the cutter, one slip, or trip and he's dead. ........................................... Jim.

That's amongst the reasons that the machine maker won't use this video on their own social media. ✔

I'm voting for the Canik if for nothing else, then for price. Here in Canada we have the SFP9 and it is close to double the price of the Canik. Now price is NOT a fair comparison, but in checking through a lot of other good KZbin sites, it would seem that most folks think the Canik is a 'quality built' gun, as is, of course, the H&K. If the prices were similar, then I guess the choice would be much more difficult to make.
