can you graft flowering dogwoods on gray stock?

i bought 3 of them online and there growing great but there separate growing. I just bought another one at garden center and that was a bush like with a huge stem and a dozen branches coming off of it. will the ones i got online be that in time

they should, yes! I've found that most shrub dogwood species grow very quickly once they get established. Happy planting!

@@forestsforthebay4784 thank you… clippings i took today im keeping inside a cup with water do they need sunlight? Also when they root can i plant in mid fall or will they die.

@@zgoalscorer8450 you're welcome! The best time to take cuttings of woody species is when they're dormant; I recommend cutting and installing the stakes during the winter. Because it's now the growing season, I would recommend keeping the cup in sunlight to see if they will root. It's worth a shot to try planting them in the fall if they do root!

Nope, I don't think they are.
