Not a prank, this time is a social experiment. Also, don't know why people has to mention that in this case, they don't know it's not real, until it was revealed to them, so for them at that moment, that's actually happening and they felt and they did what they did, as such, you could also react in relation of that. Only in situations like this, it has sense to mention that: "I know he's acting, but, he looked very sad after she rejected him. That moved me".

@@stpariah9609 mm, it's not intended that way, public proposals can create a lot of anxiety, pressure and panic when the proposal isn't expected, having a crowd around you chanting for you to say yes will make people say yes even if they don't want to (and also because they dont want to humiliate the person they love) That being said, I'm so sorry to hear about that :(

On a side note, whilst this guy has no ill intentions, it is always the best to propose in a private place first and then do it publicly if you want a show. If you do it publicly, you might unintentionally pressure the other person to say yes.

One thing I also really loved was at no point did they blame her for rejecting. There is lots of reasons as those in the video stated. Life is not always black and white there is lots of grey. I think it's deeply wrong to make a marriage proposal in an audience because the other person will almost feel compelled to say yes for fear of being judged, it becomes more of a trap than a happy moment, not to mention the discomfort that goes with it, I think that a marriage proposal should be something private, only between the two partners.

The problem with surprise public proposals is it pressurises the female into saying yes.. only about 15% of women actually want a public proposal, so its best to talk about it with your partner first, otherwise it seems just a way to control your partner as they want want to be embarrassed and say no.
