I love that you always try to find cheaper alternatives, it is so helpful and welcoming to beginners who may not want to invest in a mold.

I haven't made soap yet, but I've read some books and watched a lot of videos and your videos are the best I've seen with the information you give. Thank you! I feel more confident for when it comes time to make some soap. I've done melt and pour but it's not what I want to do. Your bars are so inspiring.

I mark it, stand it up, and cut it. I do have a guide that my husband made. Here is 'the cut' from my last video. Maybe you can stand it up and cut against a ruler. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWqZZaKkmq9paZY

Hi from the UK Marie, Thank you again for many wonderful tips and helpful videos. Will you change the liner each time you make a new soap? Thank you again👌🏼
@TreeMarieSoapworks2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the drawback to these molds is that you must use a new liner for every batch. (I usually cut several at once, so they are ready to fold when I need them.)

I'm confused, what's the depth of the soap slap once you pour it in the mold? surely the soap bars aren't 2.25" thick, are they?
@TreeMarieSoapworks2 жыл бұрын
It's a one-layer horizontal slab design. Think of it as if your bar is lying down. The depth is a little over 1." Then, it is cut into 8 or 9-3.5" x 2.25" bars, depending on how you cut it. 😊
@losFondos2 жыл бұрын
@@TreeMarieSoapworks alright, I'm building some soap molds for my mother, she's a big fan of your soap designs so I'm sure she will like the bar dimensions you suggest:)

About how many times do you use a cardboard mold like this? I find getting my soap out tends to be hard and I tear the box. I will try reinforcing with tape like you said. Great tip!! Any tips for removing the soap and getting it out without smashing the corners?
@TreeMarieSoapworks4 жыл бұрын
Make sure you use sodium lactate to harden your soap properly and think about water discount. Think about 25% water as a percent of oil weight. I had dented corners before I lowered my water.
