The "shear" arrows at 1:44 are off! Serious question though - if you have a beam with a square cross-section, outdoors use - what grain _orientation_ would be advisable? Radial up, Radial down, or tangential? So: /``\ or \_/ or ((( ?

Small comment but the shear arrow on bottom of square should be flipped in order to satisfy equilibrium in horizontal direction and moments, correct?

The videos are good. But the perpendicular and parallel was a bit confusing. So the load is applied perpendicular to the longitudinal section that gives the most srength.
