Im curious to know how you avoid all the legal jargon if paramount cbs comes knocking because these shorts are good do you follow the insane rules set down by cbs or do you bendom you know how Hollywood is about there IP keep up the good work

@@SGUDistantHope ohhhh that's quite the investment ! Well I suppose I was asking if the costumes were custom made or say, mass-produced for retail stores, the grey DS9 uniforms look particularly sharp.

@@andych8425 Again, which ones? We have all eras of Trek...Stargate and Star Wars. The FC uniforms were tricky indeed since there hard to replicate. My personal one was tailor made by a limited run of closeish fabric based on a screen used one. The female versions we use were made by Nick Cook about a decade ago based on a batch of very close fabric he found 20 years ago. The TNG/Voyager uniforms are all sourced from public sellers but then we enhance them based on screen used ones via our local tailor. Some we also re-tailor based on the actor/actress...funds certainly burn away when you do all of that. Star Wars was all sourced from higher end individual sellers...Stargate was bought years ago from a group that made screen accurate versions and my dad happened to buy several sizes which have done us well! Our costume budget is very high but...a prop and a costume you can use over and over again to get constantly high production value right on screen. We invested in those early on so that we can get the quality right from day 1...we are still trying to fund raise to get back what we have spent ha!

I disagree here. The counter-argument is Mr Cocking's library of completed films. R.O.I. on his effort is pretty good, in my view. Axanar doesn't seem to be relevant to Trek Shorts.

Axanar tried to live off the money and start their own business while piggybacking off the Star Trek name. These guys are just doing legit fan films.
