Is Air Canada still awful? Today i'm flying Air Canada in a surprise review onboard their Boeing 787 Dreamliner. After my last awful experience, it's time to find out how they perform with their reintroduced Signature Business Class product. I'll be departing from their flagship Toronto YYZ airport and, as i'm now allowed to enter Canada i'll be reviewing their ground experience, lounges all whilst maintaining a low profile. The aim today is to not have the same issues as last time (see previous review) or indeed the curated PR flight I was presented with back in June.
My trip report today will encompass all elements of the onboard experience, food service, bedding, a seat tour and in this instance how 'friendly' the crew are. As usual i'm totally honest and open about my travel, so you'll see this though the lense of an ordinary passenger rather than certain KZbinr's who give an unrealistic advertorial walk through of their flights..
As always let me know what you think in the comments below, do you have a recent experience with Air Canada Business Class? How does this change your view on my previous awful experience?

Hey guys 😀 so as always I value your feedback and take onboard what you say seriously. I’ve amended the title of this video to reflect the consensus of what’s been commented here. I’m not chasing a click bait title, my rational was to put the viewer in my position going into this flight (I.e disappointed by my last experience / not wanting a PR fan fair). I hope you understand but most of all thanks for watching and your continued support of the channel. Much love 🙏🏼

I was a flight attendant for 9 years and we always knew about “special passengers”, history of why they are special, what to expect from them, given clear instructions how to react and how to interact with them it’s all being told firstly to purser and then passed on by purser to the rest of the crew during the pre flight briefing.

No passenger should have to be considered 'special' enough in order to be afforded common-sense courtesy by the crew/staff. It is also known as equal treatment under the law.
@HRHolm-bi6zu
@HRHolm-bi6zu Жыл бұрын
Hear that, everyone? So all one has to do to get courteous treatment on an airline is 1) start your own YT channel 2) have it specialize in travel review videos, and 3) once enough viewers/followers accumulate to make you renowned and/or notorious for your reviews, post a really trashing summary of an airline trip, and they then put you on a flag list to "know when you're coming" again, so they can treat you like a king and then they'll get really fabulous reviews! Good to know how the system works----and really, shouldn't.

I'm very impressed with Air Canada. It's exceedingly rare that companies not only attempt to do obvious damage control but actually back up what they say and put in an honest effort to correct issues. I wish had had a similar experience on an AC Edmonton/London flight about five years ago. Sadly, I didn't. I paid £5000 for the privilege. The first class/business class lounge at Edmonton International was just that - a lounge; it was a late flight so lounge staff had gone home for the night and the only complimentary refreshments were some Coke in cans and no food. On board, apart from a more comfortable seat -- the only bedding being a rug and a pillow -- and a complimentary glass of champagne there was little to distinguish my flight from "cattle class", For £5000 I had been hoping for a bit of luxury. The trip to Edmonton was a special nostalgia treat for me as I had once lived very happily there for 4 years. I had saved up for it so I could really travel in style for once. Frankly, Air Canada I was very disappointed.

I've always had superb service from Air Canada, including once when an agent out west made a mistake regarding my connecting flight from Toronto. (Put a.m. instead of p.m. on my ticket, and I did not notice). The ground staff at Pearson could not do enough to get me on a flight, even though the one I expected to take was full -- I think they got me on another airline about 20 minutes later than I had expected to leave. They got me there and checked me in. Inflight, I have usually had great service too. My only complaint was on a flight from Newark to Ottawa. Newark must be the most early to bed airport in the civilised world -- I was flying at 9:00 p.m. and you could not get either a coffee or a drink in the terminal -- everything was closed. Only an hour or so, the flight, but zero to eat -- though there was some alcohol, so I used a couple of beers as filler and to pass the time.

Oh They know you are coming, your name is probably on the system, and it makes alarms go off then your name matches. It then becomes a "PR" flight.

I worked in transportation and every single person? There is a place to add "notes" if you have travelled before. They all knew who you were. They all knew you had a large following and complained. They all knew to treat you as if you were the Queen of England.

AC service/game can be horrible. Just search youtube for "air canada vomit" and see how cabin staff, especially a pilot, treat customers.

It's great to see that Air Canada has stepped up their game, and by the chance that your past experience had anything to do with the improvement, thank you!

They may not service drinks in the lounge because you need licensed servers for alcohol….

Air Canada is like this. They can be the best airline in North America, if they would just have a consistent soft product. The crew you get makes all the difference.

I just read some of the comments here and was appalled at the sensitivity and entitlement of some viewers. Whinging about the lack of a question mark in your title? Really? And then unsubscribing because of it and accusing you of clickbait? What a ridiculous bunch of twats! I will admit - the question mark was probably the best choice, but I certainly couldn't have cared less either way. Anyway... I've been watching your videos quite a lot recently - eagerly awaiting my own return to international travel and looking to upgrade seats to business or first class. Don't let the whinging minority influence your future content - your ACTUAL fans have no issues!
