Hi, Nice to see your videos on different types of trellis system being used presently for trees support in high densities, are informative. Please tell, which is the best material for making trellis, being wooden, steel, concrete made or any other as also the type of wire or its diameter? Kindly respond soon

Hi Harish, Wood is generally used for the support poles and steel wire is used for the cross supports. Best to speak to an agricultural expert in your area to determine the type of wood and the thickness of the wire and poles, as it depends on what is available in your area.

Too bad they are no longer "trees" bearing fruit.

+Kevin Rosinbum Hi Kevin, Yes, things have changed .... There are many who feel as you do. However, farming is a business, and working over a flat surface to prune, thin, harvest, spray and perform all of the other functions on a fruit farm is very much faster and very much cheaper, so it makes business sense to the farmers. Why continue with large trees, producing less fruit, of lower quality which is tough to harvest, thin & spray? I think if farmers continued on that track, we really wouldn't regard them as being smart and modern at all. It'll take some getting used to though for many, but, as with grapes, we will get used to trellising systems.

As a young man I climbed into the tree and cut mostly with a hand saw I only weighed 165 pounds at 6feet tall
