Although this does look challenging it does not look enjoyable the least bit. Now I know that videos can make the steepness deceiving but 42 degrees is not terribly steep in my opinion. The iciness of the run is the only real difficulty I think I would find doing this run. I wouldn’t forget to sharpen my edges before this. However, correct me if I’m wrong but 13 years seems like a long time for something like this.

@mikekelly78623 жыл бұрын
Unless it dumps it is 100% a chore. The upper part of the trail is just steep, a little steeper than expo probably - not much character beyond that - and invariably its glare ice. Later in the season when the bumps become massive it can be straight up dangerous, hence it being closed so often. The lower part though is no joke. Its a waterfall... you may or may not notice that depending on how good of a snow year its been but on the few occasions that I've ridden the lower half (I've never gone under the rope there... though people do tend to do this on the regular), its been very close to a mandatory air to get in, with the entire section underneath being blue ice... sometimes also bumped -and there's probably still a good 100 feet of steep vertical under the waterfall that you have to control that speed through. Skiing Dynamite is something you do just because its open. The terrain is pretty dramatic, on par with some of the steeper runs at Stowe, though considerably wider, shorter... but since its Tremblant and that area of the mountain doesn't really get any sun, yea its the world's steepest skating rink.

Who says Dynamite is so tough? The little steep bit doesn’t compare in length or angle to for example Lone Pine at Norquay. Dynamite isn’t all that bumpy most of the time. It can get icy because every plumber skier in Quebec has to try it and so they mainly side slip it. I haven’t skied it in a long time, but my buddy and I made perhaps 5 long carved turns in it. Maybe got going 100 or a bit more KPH. It is a straight shot so if one stayed on top of their skis, pressured the tips a bit and went straight until they got balanced, there is no way to get in much trouble. I enjoy these videos, but as a suggestion I would get rid of the camera on the pole, get some skis that carve well, take a few lessons, and first and foremost find a boot fitter that can use the Cantology system to get you balanced on your skis. Great ski to try, Nordica Doberman Spitfire Pro. I’ve skied them in 174 and have skied them on glare ice at faster than 75 miles per hour. Have fun, keep it up, but seriously, Dynamite isn’t a big deal.
