I just planted two Aspen's I got from home Depot.. (please do not judge 😞) anyway, it's going on a week and I've noticed some wilting on a few leaves!😮 I could really use some guidance on watering...🤔🤔 I was told by many, to really really water these Aspen's at the beginning of planting them (aka.. the sisters.. Abi & Erika.. FYI 😉) it is and has been my heart's desire to reintroduce Aspen's to this area of New Mexico.. especially on my sliver of land! So I humbly petition seasoned guidance on what not, and what, to do!! Ohhh.. and it's Apr 13, 2024..btw..

Since they're already in the ground, I think the best thing you can do is keep them well watered until they get established. The soil doesn't have to be soaked at the top. What I do to check is I would put my finger in the dirt up to the second knuckle. If the dirt is wet at that depth, it's fine. If it's dry, then water some more. I don't think you should feel bad about where you bought them! Thanks for watching!

In 2014/15 I planted 3 or 4 five-foot Aspen trees on my property (wildfire recovery project) along the Colorado front range at 7500' elevation. I watered them well, but still most of them died back and put out new sprouts that are *finally* looking like real trees now, but it has taken years - like 8 years. Someone told me that's just what Aspen do when they're transplanted. Some Aspens on my property are volunteers from wind blown seed off neighboring acreage, and they do much better; no die back, especially the two that I watered. The volunteers I don't water are surviving, but have about one tenth the height of the two volunteers I water regularly in summer. I think you should just keep watering.

Palo Verde trees live in the desert and have green bark. They do photosynthesis year round in the bark.

Why not if you have hypothyroidism?
@OkanaganGardenerandForager2 жыл бұрын
One of the medicinal uses could be to settle the metabolism with hyperthyroidism. If someone is already experiencing hypothyroidism, I think it could continue to push the system more out of balance.
