TREMOLO PEDALS: Boss TR-2 vs Fulltone Supa-Trem Jr

Been using the TR-2 since 1998, hard to beat that pedal. Great Demo and yes the Fulltone Supa Jr. was very cool.

I had a TR-2 many years ago, had since sold it, but just bought another one recently. It's important to note that although there is of course no volume control on the TR-2, the newer models DO have a gain trim pot inside the pedal that allows you to set a little bit of gain boost to compensate for perceived volume drop. The pot isn't directly on the PCB, but it's mounted perpendicular on the PCB. You need a very small flathead screwdriver to adjust it. The TR-2 is excellent. The more I use it the more I like the way it sounds.

I second this. My TR-2 that sat on the local music store shelf for a decade before I bought it was too quiet. I simply fixed the internal pot and BOOM, perfect trem!

@@ckhgator Thanks! I had bought this TR-2 recently as a "temporary" solution until I figured out which other Trem pedal I wanted, but the more I use the TR-2, the less I"m interested in getting anything else. Simplicity is king with Tremolo pedals for me, and the TR-2 nails it.

Great video! I didn't notice a tonal difference between the two. It appears to come down to differences in control which is in Fulltone's favor. They both make great pedals.

I prefer the sound of the Fulltone, but the colour of the Boss - nice match to your guitar

Love Boss pedals, the Supa-trem obviously has much more at hand in many ways

If you prioritize a classic, reliable tremolo at a more affordable price point, the Boss TR-2 might be a solid choice✌🏽. The Supa Trem is more in a Boutique section. But the sound is awesome

Boss sucks out your tone wayyy more than the Supa trem Jr. The Supa is way more natural sounding. Also, has different waves and can be used as a boost. Most importantly for me: No crappy BOSS buffers. Hate their buffers.
