Hey there. I have learned that there are quite a ton of American vids "how to ride a bike", "how to deal with clutch" and such, just like your own video here. All fine, but... It makes me wonder. I'm Danish, and in my country, Danmark, (and every other European country I ever heard of), you need a drivers license for motorcycle if you want to ride a motorcycle. A license for a person's car (B category) is not good enough for riding a bike, you will have to take a FULL driver's license for motorcycle, the theory, the practice - this normally takes a few months. It doesn't help you that you already have yourself a driver's license for a car, it will buy you exactly zero merit - you still need a full mc license, as if you didn't have a car license in the first place. But I guess it's different in the USA?? - You opened your vid by saying there are lots of people in your country stalling their motorcycle when trying to ride off from a traffic light. This of course is a clear sign that they didn't pass a drivers license test. - Either because they simply bought their bike without caring to take a license for it (and now ride (or try to ride lol) illegally) - OR that you don't need a motorcycle driver's license in the USA. If it's true you don't need an mc license - not clever, not clever at all. Close to 100% of the American population took their driver's license in a car with automatic tranny. So Americans in general can't drive a car (The USA - home of the motor car - but they cannot drive) - And then they buy themselves a motor bike (!!!) - a killer machine with performance enough to send you in eternal orbit around Saturn. In Europe you learn to drive in a car with manual transmission in the driver school. If you later would like a license for a motorbike, you already know what there is to know about clutching, it's just situated another place, and is controlled by hand instead of feet. But we still need that license to drive legally, and have to through it all, in full. I mean, I wondered about all the American "how to motorcycle" vids in the first place, and even more funny/strange - if I go to your comments section, there are many people thanking you, how you helped them learn it. Good for you (congratz) - but deeply idiotic. If one doesn't know how to ride a bike - GO TO YOUR DRIVER SCHOOL. PASS A TEST. DO NOT MOUNT A MOTORBIKE UNTIL YOUR DRIVING TEACHER SAY OK. STAY OFF OF PUBLIC ROADS UNTIL YOU PASSED THE TEST. If you took the license - fine, but then I don't understand why vids like yours exist? - They should be 100% unnecessary.
@Tremonte3 жыл бұрын
@@MeBallerman I agree, but unfotunately it's too easy here to get a motorcycle and be able to ride legally on the streets. The basic requirement? It's a simple written test of like, 15-20 questions to get a leaners permit. This allows anyone, over the age of 16, to take any size motorbike on the highways. The only restriction is to not carry passengers. Crazy yeah? That's why videos like this exist. It's the hope that people will take riding serious, and find a safe place to practice before getting into traffic because most aren't going to take riding classes since they aren't required to. And you are also correct in saying most can't drive a manual automobile here. I joke with people saying my cars being all manuals, are anti-theft devices since few people seem to know how to drive them anymore.
@MeBallerman3 жыл бұрын
@@Tremonte Thanx for answering me. Yeah, with the knowledge you just provided me here, it's easier to comprehend the existence of vids like yours. Written test questions... "You drowned a full bottle of Scotch 10 minutes ago, and feel dizzy. Will it be safe to mount and ride your motorcycle A: Right away - B: Wait half an hour - C: I wait 24 hours in the very least before I ride." Fun aside, I guess you'd be obliged to take a full motorcycle license if you don't have license for a car (hypothetical for most Americans, they have driver's license for car)

I’m a new rider myself and I stalled so many times. I stalled on a busy roundabout and on a turn to college with a steep up hill with speed bumps. Took me 5 mins with cars piled behind but lucky the lady behind was kind and patient enough and told me to take my time. At the end I pushed it to the side of the road and let the car pass me. The most embarrassing thing ever 😂😭

I stalled my bike once, on third gear, when i stall it the first time i didnt downshift, stalled it again i downshift but only once, stalled it again and i downshift till its first gear, or thats what i think it is, its actually neutral, i pulled the clutch, start the bike, release the clutch, nothing happens, very cringe moment, car behind me was honking aggressively

I and going to practice the technique over and over to help take the anxiety of stalling away so i can enjoy the cruise... THank you so much for this video!

I feel you. I had my second driving lesson today. First one was on a parking lot to practice. Today I was on one bike with my instructor, and I thought he will take me to some village and let me drive there. Oh boy was I wrong. He told me, to drive to that village, turn around, and return. And of course, I got really frustrated with him sitting right behind me. I was so frustrated when I had to stop somewhere and then make the bike move again. I mostly managed to do it. But at the last turn, the really last turn before my destination, I was under so much pressure I couldn't get the bike to move. It would always die. Next time I will do it like on this video!

My bike stalls if I let go of the clutch (I’m not dumping t he clutch) I have to keep the revs high to get it to stay running when I ease off the clutch. Do I just have an old motorcycle it’s an 83 or do I have a clutch issue. Like I have to give it throttle to get it to move without stalling.

It is. This will work for any vehicle with a manual transmission. Listen for the engine RPM's to drop or watch your tachometer in a car/truck. That's when you are ready to start moving by gently applying throttle, then continue to slowly release the clutch.

What if you give throttle before you release the clutch and release the clutch while giving throttle
@Tremonte7 жыл бұрын
+no81wareagle that’s typically what you do once you learn where the friction points are, or more so, you will be giving throttle and releasing clutch at the same time. For this demonstration, it’s better to learn the friction point and release the clutch first to prevent dumping the clutch and the bike surging forward, which could lead to a dropped bike. I’ve seen a lot of beginners that has happened to.
