3 of my trench coats have removable wool linings. Best feature ever! Can wear them all seasons.

Where on earth did you find those.? We don’t seem to get such options here in Australia, but it would be perfect for my areas weather. Even in summer you can need a coat here

I just bought a new olive green trench coat off Amazon. I ended up buying a ‘men’s’ coat because the quality, cut, fabric, colors available AND pricing was sooo much better than what I could find in the women’s section. I’m a tall girl, broad shoulders and long arms. I find myself purchasing jackets/coats from the men’s department as a general rule because of superior quality/fabrics/price.

I got a new trench coat last spring from Banana Republic for petites. I'm 5'5 but in a long coat, I always get a petite. Ridiculous sale and had a discount coupon to boot. Can't beat that. I love the fit. And it ticked all of Ellena's boxes.

Great information here Elena. I've just checked my M&S single breasted trench. Its got the collar 'stand' ✅️and back vent ✅️. At just 5ft it's perfect for me. Belted coats really make me look shorter and dumpy so I'm happy going minimalist.

I bought a vintage Burberry trench coat 20 years ago in Greenwich market, London. I think it was at least 10 years old when i bought it. It had been shortened but i changed it back to the original length. It's beautiful and classic and still looks wonderful.

Great tips! I recently bought a BR coat! I would have preferred single breasted (I'm full busted) but the epaulettes defined my shoulders and make my waist look smaller. I'm short-waisted so I'll rarely tie the belt. I would also add that if your coat has a high cotton content, you can have it dyed. And, a removable wool liner can really extend your wear-time into the colder months.

Very helpful tips, thank you! I just checked my old London Fog trench coat and it got a surprisingly good grade - plus it has a removable hood. However I still prefer my real raincoat for heavy rain as it is completely waterproof while still elegant and its hood does not blow back in the wind. And if the weather is really bad, I break out the rainpants!

Thanks for all the information. My question: how do I wear the belt while walking with an open trenchcoat? Is there a trick to give it an elegant look? The knot is also uncomfortable when sitting for example in public transportation.

Fantastic video. This would have helped me buy a trench to take to Europe earlier this year . Although I think I was very close to your recommendations however finding it in Australia was very difficult especially in our summer. We just don’t get the ranges and features down here.

A very timely video. I have a fantastic Banana Republic trench, very classic, but unfortunately it is a bit small for me now. Still looking for the right replacement. I'm leaning toward the classic, timeless style, but I'd love to try an olive or kaki trench this time. Thanks for these great tips.

At least last spring Massimo Dutti had in European market a proper trench coat in the repertory. It has flap on the correct side, hooks and a collar stand. It is double-breasted and water repellent.

Storm flap is the flap on the back, below the neck. Gun flap is the flap on the right part of the torso, and it must be only on the right because it was created to protect the gun of the soldiers which was hidden underneath their trench coat, in a holster. We still put the gun flap on trench coats out of respect to the original Burberry model, so it should be only one. Two gun flaps are a mistake that can be forgiven on a Chinese designer, not on a European.
@tatianasokolova94684 ай бұрын
Interesting history note! Thank you ❤ There is something that doesn’t fit in my head: most pple shoot with right hand, so it would make sense to keep the gun at left side for quick release… and you say that the flap always on the right side 🙃 How so?
@wallybistrich34744 ай бұрын
@tatianasokolova9468 Exactly my question to understand this.
@aspassiaman90813 ай бұрын
@@tatianasokolova9468 yes, it is on the left of the wearer, on the right as we see him. In any case its only one flap.
