Vinay Manohar For 5% significance level, the null hypothesis (no trend) will be rejected, if absolute value of z_calculated is greater than z_tabulated (1.96) or if p-value is less than 0.05. Plus if S/τ is +ve >>> Increasing trend and if S/τ -ve >>>>> Decreasing trend.

However, when I was reviewing literature on the confidence intervals for autocorrelation coefficient, for the upper limit negative sign for 1 was missed out in your tutorial. Thought it is required to mention as it would be helpful for researchers, who follow your tutorial. Regards, Meena

As rightly mentioned by Meena mam negative sign is missing for the upper limit. And also many pieces of literature say that "If 'R' falls between the upper and lower limits of confidence interval (the data are considered serially correlated)" Please clarify this.

is that necessary to do data quality test before doing Trend analysis ,like outlier test or not? if yes why you do not do outlier test before doing Trend? Thank you...!

Because it is a non-parametric test and does not require the data to be normally distributed since non- parametric statistics are usually much less affected by the presence of outliers and other forms of non- normality such as abrupt breaks.
