Hi mate, good video. The clamp is to clamp the PH jig to the workpiece, that’s why it’s the shape it is. 👍🏻

I have the same one - great tool imo. I used a penny to help set the drill depth after a bit of testing I found it to be the sweet spot.

This looks like it is far higher quality & better value than the products that Kreg do. Thanks for the video, i really enjoyed it. Trend stuff is normally top notch.

Thank you for the review and demo. I am looking into one of these as I have been using the smaller version, that could be tedious and does not got the options, hence upgrading. I am no professional but like to do bit of DIY now and then to keep myself busy. Being disabled, any jig comes very handy. I love those Robertson screws you were using in the video. Nevertheless, thank you once again for the video. I also got a young channel, which needs a lot of work and my time. Have a look at the contents by all means, as I believe *Our World is a Shared Experience* ... Remember, *_Life_* is *_Short_* so *_Live Long_* and *_Prosper_* 🖖... Good demo of the PHJ. The reason it is only £50 - oddly enough, that's what I paid around 4 years ago - is that it has been replaced with a newer model with, among other things, the ability to adjust for different thicknesses of material. Of course, you can use it on 25 or larger stock, but the screw will not exit in the centre of the material, making the joint significantly weaker. As you say, the clamp is the weak component of the package, and the limitation of only being able to use it on 18mm material. That said, It is very well made, and an absolute bargain at £50.

Hi. This model is for use on 16mm to 38mm thickness boards. Admittedly, for 25-38mm you will need the longer screws than the 30mm provided.

Would it work well on 18mm plywood?
@deathisdeadhaha2 ай бұрын
Problem with this jig is there is no depth adjustment if the wood is over 19mm so if you wanted to do pocket holes for a 38mm finshed timber (2x2) the holes are too close to the edge

Thanks for your review 👍 I'm just about to start hobby woodworking, so this will no doubt sound like a daft question. Are you choosing which screw length to use just by estimation? Which length of screw tends to be most commonly used? Thanks very much.
@TMCarpentry2 жыл бұрын
I think I used 1 1/4" screws for most common uses. But depends on the thickness and size

Had this about two weeks made about twenty pocket holes and the Allen key bolt that tensions the pocket hole blocks striped the thread, should have been a thumb screw for something that is used often, I had to retap to get it working again, the unit itself is good but corners have been cut.
@TMCarpentry3 жыл бұрын
Agree. And I am.not sure why these only allow the adjustment to how wide apart the hole can be made. It can't be used for anything than approx 18mm.

Hi good video, however, the clamp is for holding down the jig base, not for clamping the work piece.
