There is a half Korean half half Nigerian model in Korea named Han Hyun Min. Quite the handsome young man but because he has lived in Korea almost all his life (or all of it I think), he does not really speak any other language other than Korean . He says people think he is lying when he says he doesn’t speak English. Lololol

The minute they said his new hairstyle was like a poodle, Sam put that shit to a stop straight away and was like, 'I have to pay'. It's bad enough that they started touching his hair without his permission let alone comparing him to a Goddamn dog breed! 😒. Sam is the hero we all need tbqh. You can see that he sees a lot of his younger self in David and that is why he has taken him under his wings. I am sure Sam didn't have anyone guiding him when he first moved to Korea so it's so sweet that he has taken David under his wings, looks out for him like an older brother and even told him to call him 🙌🏾
@annEgwon
@annEgwon 7 жыл бұрын
when i saw that part, i felt so uncomfortable for him like you can see sam's face change when they started to pet him and compare him to a poodle :( I know they don't have any bad intentions but they need to learn that it's not okay :/

Sj Baem People seriously underestimate the power of a haircut! This is why for us black folks getting our hair done is an experience, I would even say it's ritualistic because it is so core to our being lol. The black barber/ beauty shop experience is something everyone, no matter the race, should have.

This sis so beautiful !! I was smiling and laughing the whole time!! Love this ! Its so necessary for Koreans to be exposed to people who look different from them and that helps with debunking soo many negative stereotypes and can help humans in general get along or at least try to understand and accept each other regardless of cultural differences. So I appreciate SAM SOO much for giving that exposure and just showing a different part of the world thats really not so far away but in your backyard and even though there are culural differences.. there is no need to be afraid or ignorant . Personally, I think it's an exciting time for Korea in terms of diversity. For the first time in history, being Korean doesn't necessarily mean you have to look a certain way. I hope in my lifetime I can see people say "I'm Korean" and not give anything away about their ethnic origin. Similar to the way people say "I'm American" or "I'm British".

her referring to the barbershop as exotic and calling it strange and generally feeling shocked when it's just a place filled with people different to her is rlly weird to me ? i guess koreans are so used to their homogenous population that they've become accustomed to feeling shocked towards other people but it's strange bc i would consider her comments rude
@isndrde
@isndrde 7 жыл бұрын
trust me it could've been a lot worse, she was actually pretty open about it all. When people from a homogenous population see other races and comment about it they don't even know what it is to be racist. It's something they're going to learn and we need to be understanding about it but teach them the correct way to express their curiosity.
@Rawaraii
@Rawaraii 6 жыл бұрын
in the clip, dahye says 신기하다(singihada) a lot which is usually translated to strange but it's not in the same way as english where strange can mean negatively, in this case you might use 이상하다(sometimes strange in a negative way)! 신기하다 is more like fascinating, interesting strange in a positive or novel way, typically used when you find something that is new to you but almost captivating? just wanted to clarify because translations sometimes miss the nuances of words in the original language~ although i don't condone her touching his hair, i'm pretty sure this experience was a positive one for her to learn from :)
