I recall it because, I think something happened to the album jacket so, my sister and I who's 2 years older kept it in a Minnie Mouse record jacket. Stephanie was worth more to her and, I than Disney. Even at our ages back then. 😆💃🏾😆😆

@helprehouseourvets6919
@helprehouseourvets6919 Ай бұрын
Usually when ppl are labeled difficult, is because they have a over inflated valuation of themselves and treat other ppl like trash. Some ppl just have "stank" attitudes and being married in quick succession THREE X's in "short" order for less than 5 yrs reach says a lot about who you are as a person. Still waiting on her talking about who fathered her son and why she's keeping his identity a big secret...👀

You have a point. None of us are perfect. I don't know her personally. What I'm looking at is her music career and her longevity. I never heard any bad stuff about her. Nor, her being in trouble. What I've seen she hasn't compromise. Did I say, she was perfect. No, I didn't. I don't know about her personal life. I don't really care. She don't have to tell everything about her family situation. If she don't want to discuss it. Its her right. The whole world doesn't need to know your business.
@helprehouseourvets6919
@helprehouseourvets6919 Ай бұрын
@prestonodom713 You also gotta remember is 'her' time of popularity was (well before) the age of social media and primed primarily thru black media so no, we didn't get the whole story. Jeffery Daniel tried to speak out and got "silenced" and Janet has spoken about how she came to know Steph and her role in them meeting. It's just weird the way Steph keeps harping on her so called relationship with Michael like an obsession and making it more than it really was. The woman is nuts😂talented but nuts.
@stephaniemills_fanpage
@stephaniemills_fanpage Ай бұрын
@@helprehouseourvets6919I love how you’re spreading false information 😂 she’s “nuts” yet you have never met her! How can someone at 67 still have an over 5 decade long career, still be relevant and thriving, never had anyone come out and bad mouth them, be “nuts”?! Begone weirdo! Jeffrey Daniel was reportedly abusive towards her, which can easily be seen on all types of articles from back in the day! Yet she always try’s to speak highly of him whenever mentioned blaming it on their young age (yet she’s nuts..) and Janet Jackson!? are you serious.. she’s NEVER spoken on Stephanie! There are literally picture(s) of Stephanie and Michael (along with other family members) together.. she never even mentions Michael unless asked. Come correct with facts next time boo! instead of being a bitter hater. All under a video with HER name on it 😂

Stephanie AKA Cookie went to my church. Wait, it was her church. She kept us feeling good. She went to music school with my sisters. My parents drove her parents back to Brooklyn went the all moved to Mt. Vernon. I have all her music. I don't go to concerts, so I haven't been one of her cheering fans. I'd love to meet her once. I do cry every time I hear Home. I left Brooklyn in 1975 to join the Air Force and that song takes me back.

@ Cookie aka Stephanie, was also attending Morning Star Pentecostal Church at the time she started doing The Wiz. My Great Uncle Wilmore was the Bishop at the time. We sang together in my Uncle’s church. Our young group was called the Starlights. She even came from CA to sing at his funeral when he passed. She sung Shirley Ceasar’s version of “Walk Around Heaven…”. I’ll never forget that. Her and I would bunk together as children at my Grandparents home in Brooklyn when we had a church outing the following day. Cookie & I are the same age. Before she left NY to go to CA to record “Feel The Fire” with Teddy Pendergrass, my 5 siblings & I were invited to her beautiful home in Mt. Vernon. As you mentioned, she’s from Brooklyn but this was the 1st home she bought for her family. While we were there Diana Ross ( ready to do the Wiz movie) and Louis Farrakhan, Jr. called her. My older sister who is like a sister to her older sister, Walla, even to this day arranged it. We were singing for old times sake, when Cookie asked me if I wanted to go audition for The Wiz at the Majestic Theater on 57th St. in NYC. Without a seconds thought the words “No thank you” humbly popped from my lips! I was surprised myself! Everyone thought I was nuts. But with all I know about the Music Industry and what others, including she, have been through, I have sincerely never regretted that choice. Not one bit🙏🏽💙🤗. MJ, liked having secret places to visit. He had several places in New York & Cookies’ home in Mt. Vernon was one of them. MJ loved sweets & her Mom made all kinds, from what I remember his favorite was her Mom’s Peach Pie.

I remember being in college in the early 80's. My twin girlfriends and I saw Stephanie Mills in D.C. (Cameo opened for her). She came out and a very dramatic, yet scary moment ensued: The stage was set: She was on her throne and suddenly a man was approaching her, as to profess his love for her (we were thinking that this was a romantic opening). He was about to hug her, but suddenly she screamed and the curtains closed. We were confused. We didnt know if this was part of the show or not. After a few minutes, the curtain re-opened and something briefly was stated by her (dont remember what, exactly). She continued with the show, which was so powerful, it made us almost forget that bizarre moment that left us in a quandry. She had a "the show must go on attitude...... her voice was extremely electrifying back then and just as crystal clear and thrilling Right Now, Love Her!! 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜

Stephanie Mills’ correct birthday is March 22, 1957-not August 22-let’s get it right for the queen! 🌟 She’s a proud Aries who’s so timeless and youthful that she could absolutely play herself in her biopic-what a legend! But Fantasia would also be an incredible choice; her talent and spirit match the role perfectly. Are you subliminally hinting at that with this pic? 👀 Either way, no need for clickbait or gimmicks-we’ll always show up for Ms. Mills because we love and respect her for the icon she truly is! ❤🔥

I was truly blessed to see Ms. Stephanie Mills in 1979 in The Wiz. As a senior in high school. The club I was in was called Roots and the school was East Boston High. President of the club and we took out club to see The Wiz, and she definitelyis short af. She was the nicest celebrity I ever meant. I fell in love with her voice and the music from The Wiz I brought that sound at least 4x and I have buy it again. When I felt scared alone or just lost I would listen to "Be a Lion and Home" those 2 songs always lift my spirit. She has an amazing voice

I remember when my father gave me her 1st album for Christmas along with my cabbage pack record player.😅 I'm 2' taller than her and my friends say I sound like her even though I don't think so. She was young and probably didn't know how to handle success like many others.

I "Never Knew Love Like This Before..." is just one of 2 favorite No. 1's, along with "I've Learned To Respect The Power Of Love" in early '86 (Angela Winbush penned it)! 2 decades earlier, Stephanie is singing and recording Gospel music... and she's still my favorite singer!!
