I was 8 - 9 years old when the movie came out and it was a particular favorite among my friends and I, especially between me and my best friend at the time. I thought the robot was sooo friggin' cool at the time and it remains a favorite design of mine to this day. Those responsible for the robot's design and development were able to include a perfect balance between technological utility and combat effectiveness in the design which greatly enhanced the believability. It seemed logical that the robot designed for such a mission would be equipped for assisting in ship operations and establishing a homestead once they reached their destination, but also possess offensive weapons and defensive capabilities in order to provide security for the crew/Robinson family; it all just made sense. When I was a kid though I didn't really think about all that, I basically just thought it looked really awesome haha. I especially loved the pulse blaster equipped three-digit claw hands for whatever reason... Idk, I was really into grappling hooks/claws and shit at that age so maybe that had something to do with it, who knows. In any case I had the deluxe version or "Rocket Laucnher Robot" by Trendmasters. It had lights and sounds and everything as well as removable battle damage portions and the deployable shoulder mounted cannon with included missiles to shoot. It had a few other neat little features like the spring loaded head/faceplate and legs, and the triple electrode on the right secondary arm lit up, while the pincers on the left secondary arm were actually functional. It stood around 11" tall with legs fully deployed and maybe 10" when locked down to the tread base (maybe a little less). Pretty similar to the RC version actually, I believe they may have even used the same molds aside from the main body/torso.

I'm revisiting this video because I'm thinking about buying the RC version... I had the other one when I was a kid and I loved it to death, and I did eventually try installing some RC treads on it when I was like 11 or 12 to no avail. Kinda ruined it honestly and I wish I would have left it alone and that I still had it today, so I figure why not just buy one of the RC ones now haha. They're still pretty cheap on ebay even unopened in the original box and everything, so why not. There is a part of me that wants to modify one to move using actual treads and everything, but we'll have to wait and see... I might buy two then just to keep one otherwise unmolested. I kinda want to get Major Wests pulse blaster rifle kit too if I can find one at a reasonable enough price (for some reason that particular item remains one of the more valuable pieces of merchandise, although it was also one of the only role-playing items produced from the film). I've also always loved the bubble fighter battle sequence from the beginning of the film so I might get one of Major West's "Eagle One" bubble fighter by Trendmasters as well. There's a few of them available on ebay at the moment, although currently listed at just a bit more than I'd really like to pay at around $30 at the lowest. I'd be happier at $20, maybe $25 tops. Maybe I'll try making an offer on one or something and we'll see if that spirited nine year old is still alive and well within me...

I don't think you destroyed any of the value of these robots from lost in space. Cause they don't have any value. ;) The movie was horrible and no one bought these toys back then. They are super easy to find.
