Scripting is the backbone of many of the tools inside the TrendSpider platform, including the Scanner, the Strategy Tester, the Multi-Factor Alerts as well as the Smart Checklist.

Where can I see the language syntax for the trendspider scripting language? Is there a page where I can see the list of methods/functions available in the scripts? Does it support for/while loop and if/else conditions?

Hey Subway! There is no language to our scripting functionality. You simply select from drop down menus. We do also now offer custom scripting via JavaScript. Learn more about that here: charts.trendspider.com/scripting/docs/#/

Question for you. If you want to make a script that goes long and short does it require 2 separate scripts or can do you do it in just one script?

Weird I could not script price close crossing up VWMA 5 min. No option to select crossing up when selecting as shown.

Hey K2! You'll need to start w/ the indicator. Once you select the indicator, you'll see an option in the next drop-down menu called 'Price has broke through it.' Then, you can use a secondary parameter to define that price is closing above the indicator. Another way to script this same idea is using two parameters: The first defines that price opened below the indicator and the second defines that price closed above the indicator. Hope this helps!

One issue i see with propietary code is data mining, winning strategied would be stolen.

All data is secured and not shared between users.

@@javierlol278 i suppose theoretically a developer could dig through the database but partically they would have no reason to as we do not track or display internally the results of user backtests... and there are something like 50,000 backtests run on any given day. we're not in the business of trading, we're in the business of building tools for traders
