Ballet flats are timeless to me because sometimes I wanna dress slightly formal without wearing heels

They’re timeless in my opinion! It’s been something that has been around but hasn’t been so trendy.

I think puffer jackets are timeless, at least in Spain I have never seen people stop using them. I only noticed that now people tend to use it more oversize like everything lol

you might be right, i def love puffers and will never stop using mine!

I think this topic needs more details, such as of course a white t-shirt is always in but not any white t-shirt. Cropped, tight or oversize, how short or long sleeves are, the material and neck, seams and many more details are so important when it comes to define a classic piece. That would be even more intiguing to watch

+you’ve mentioned cut and material for some of them, I love your comments

The diesel tops do it for me idk it just looks so futuristic but also nostalgic ?
@alisonodette9 ай бұрын
wait you’re so right, it looks futuristic. Very zenon-like which is were I think fashion is heading. It would be so interesting to see fashion evolve to the point where that style might be considered timeless and what I mentioned as ‘timeless’ in the video dated or old-fashioned, kinda like we see the 50’s

I enjoyed this video! This was great to listen to the reality of high fashion, keeping things simple, and be content.

Where would you recommend getting a good pair of black mini skirt?? I’ve been looking to invest into a pair since my closet is missing one but struggling on where to get it from!
@alisonodette8 ай бұрын
hii! I would recommend *garage, aritzia, sezàne, and alice + olivia.* A lot of brands are a little over the top with their designs now so thrifting is sometimes the best way to find classic items, you can look for them on depop, the real real, or farfetch, I would recommend *hervé léger, miaou, ganni, and miu miu.*

@alisonodette3 ай бұрын
i don’t think they are! I haven’t seen them in a bit, and I’ve heard other people say they wouldn’t ever wear ripped jeans again (i totally would tho)

Many of these timeless things have been in fashion for a bit longer, but they aren't timeless e.g. turtlenecks - when I started wearing these in about 2013 they had been out of style for long enough that it was a bit controversial. I'm only 30 but tailored trousers haven't always been in, nor have midi skirts, leggings, cardigans etc. The cuts, fits and lengths of so many of these things also change so dramatically that they are very distinctive of their era

interesting! i guess we’ll have to wait and see if they go out of style, personally I don’t think I would stop wearing them if they do

Logos are tied to the black and latino community just fyi, kinda ignorant when often times its tied to an entire culture, its made the full circle from "not knowing how to dress" to my mom wore these logos proudly when she made a paycheck and now I am able to wear it proudly on my steady income. Its a vibe u dont get it obvs

@alisonodette6 ай бұрын
i mean mexico is pretty big and the vibe is different in every state, saying 33 different countries dress the same & have the same vibe is wild to me, totally untrue. Everyone is free to spend their money however they want, totally not against high fashion brands, I like them too! I’m just not big on logomania, doesn’t mean you can’t be.
@lemon_boii10745 ай бұрын
Girl...most countries have a percentage of the population obsessed with logos. It's not just "tied to the Latino and black communities". That just tells me you haven't been to china, or Korea, or Spain etc. lots of people like logos, and it's not racist to say you find them tacky.
@danielleq123 ай бұрын
She’s allowed to have an opinion and find them tacky too. I’m also Mexican and don’t like big logos. You don’t have to get so salty about it, just wear what you like, not everyone has to like it too

Plus you literally said " I need to stop being influenced" and then followed it with a point about how trend followers have 0 personal style, uhhhhhh
@jennifercantubrunel28126 ай бұрын
She can have an opinion while still following certain trends that she likes, I personally feel the same as her when I find something that was trendy in my closet but am now I´m realizing it was just a trend and not really 'my style'.
@alisonodette6 ай бұрын
i rewatched it to try and get your point and i totally meant when it comes to bags, there are a lot of bags that aren’t from any known brands (and even from known brands) that are super cute and less trendy, but I guess at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference, and I see how my comment could’ve come off as offensive, and for that I apologize. But, I never said trend followers in general have no sense of style since that doesn’t even make sense based on the fact half of my content is about trends, and I follow some trends myself.
