Thank you for this. I usually just say that I am a Catholic when they come to the door, and then they go away. But now I see an opportunity to minister to them to show them that Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Light.

I usually point out Thomas bowing to Jesus, saying "My Lord and my God!", and that He is described by John as the "only-begotten of the Father", not just a first-born.

I tried that. Apparently, according to the INFALLIBLE INTERPRETATION OF THAT PERSON, St Thomas is ONLY making an EXCLAMATION! IT'S LIKE SAYING, "Oh my God." (Please note that I am not using the term myself, but merely as an example. Also, in case you weren't aware, the caps are where I'm being sarcastic.)

they will just say "first and lst" can be used in different ways, one is Jehovah, one is not..

Isaiah 44:6 Is not a good argument to defend the trinity. Why? The first and the Last are titles applied to both the Father and Son but we should not concluded that they are the same. Similarly, the expression “apostle” is applied both to Jesus Christ and to certain ones of his followers. But that does not prove that they are the same person or are of equal rank, does it? (Heb. 3:1)

The Hebrew word for gods elohim comes from a root word meaning to be strong. Elohim applies to God, angels false gods, single and plural, and men: the reason being that even angels and men and false or made up gods have been viewed as strong, mighty, ones in relation to or in their higher position over others.For that reason Jehovah's Witnesses can't be accused of arguing against the divinity or godship of Christ as described for instance in John 1:1.They however do not believe that he is the same God his father is. And neither is he a rival god, such as he gods of the nations, but he supports and is involved himself in the worship of his Father as a loved and devoted son.Jesus himself used this argument when dealing with the religious leaders of his day:"Jesus answered them is it not written in your law, I said you are gods..." referring to human rulers.
