Trent Reznor Is Awesome

Finally, the third in my series of "awesome" compilations! This one features Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor. I thought it was about time I stopped inserting Trent into aging memes.
Anyway, there was too much content to choose from, so I focused this video mostly on recent material, as it makes more justice to the title ("is" awesome, not "was" awesome). Obviously, NIN superfans will notice that there are several videos "missing", but hopefully there's enough here to please you =)
Previous episodes in this series:
Josh Homme Is Awesome
• Josh Homme Is Awesome
Jack White Is Awesome
• Jack White Is Awesome
I shall credit the original videos soon enough, as I filmed none of this.

Yeah I remember at one concert I was at in Cleveland at Quicken Arena for the Lights in the Sky Tour of 2008 the people or strangers in the row behind us decided to take a ton of acid. The one guy started freaking out and being someone who knew drugs my buddy and I never understood why you'd trip at one of these concerts. Cocaine, amphetamine maybe some opiates or downers sure but fucking acid? I heard the guy behind me complaining the whole time about having a bad time and finally he thought if he just took more and I look back I see him grab a ten strip of LSD out of some aluminum foil and eat it all. Half hour later his friends and some security guards had to carry the man out. Also, I remember somehow my buddy and I got him to do Reptile as his first encore song we started chanting it and others just joined in and he said "oh I guess you guys like the sad stuff." Edit: they absolutely did an amazing job performing "Reptile" but I never did get to see him perform "Starfuckers Inc"

The second time I saw them was in Fresno 2005 and he messed up the words to starfuckers, inc. and started singing "blah blah blah, let's fuck up the words!" like he knew he screwed up, and laughed it of and kept playing. Then he thanked us by saying "your numbers may be few, but you're a great fucking audience!" he earned more of my respect that day.

Some comment about whether TR does drugs...totally irrelevant. He could be a child murderer as far as I'm concerned. One of the only true song craft masters left. And if he was in the 1960s and 70's, he would have rightfully been with the great. Now he isn't even good enough to get a 1000th of the airplay fucking Adele and One Direction get...what has the world turned into? Greed has ruined us. And even those of us who think that the system is brilliant, but ruined by greed, and who would love a moneyless world and go by the God of humanity and common sense...(Fucking right wing Republicans and Tories and Conservative Nationalist bastards who divide and conquer and promote inequality over the airways in the disguise of these musical morons with pitch perfect voices who are in a band with people who can't even play a fucking instrument! Fuck off human parasites bottom feeding...that's what they think they do to the poor...feed us. Feed us hope? Feed us propaganda! Feed us the words they want us to repeat in the name of fashion...and you become the pointing finger of your accusers hand and the price you pay is taken without your knowledge because you DON'T WANT TO KNOW...because they work you so hard you have no time for anything else but feeding your beautiful families...who may well become war fodder for the by same people. And don't let them tell you that God is religious...he's not. He fucking hates them all. Those who second guess God! If He wanted to be known, he would have told you...you ridiculously egocentric cowards who need the buxom of Christ to ease the terror of your impending death...will you die of death? And my carbon footprint is less than that of a photocopier. Which means lots. I do drugs! Love them. Musically opens avenues of creativity which, without ever having anything but parallic circumstantial evidence...and the instinct of the music gods, would otherwise have been closed. Then TR would be writing songs for Coldplay. Are Coldplay not yet on the "Band List"? They're the reason why the UK sick bag industry has done particularly well this year. Chris Martin is...this is on wikipedia (that's fact that isn't)...a phallic member of the cucumber clan. A living breathing penis. Except shit comes out. Wikipedia also (factual facts are my un-speciality) mentions that Trent Reznor (he even has a rock star fucking name...a lot better than 'Bob Posthlethwaite'...he would be stacking shelves in Tesco with that name. My name is Cornelius Crow. I don't stack shelves in Tesco. If my name was Gerald Bottomley then I would be. I am unemployed. And unemployable. Which is proof that artists never judge the cover by the book. I need to paint my television with shoelaces made from the udderlust of a fuck drilled twatypuss. Where's my therapissed?

Man, if I were around the guy that yelled during hurt either time (or the person who threw a lighter at Trent during Hurt at another show on the same tour) I would have beat the shit out of him. That said, the fucking ending of Piggy video made me tear up because it reminded me of my first show when Trent came down and I grabbed his hand and he held it the entire time he was down there. Great compilation of Trent being pissed, and other "entertaining" moments from the last few tours.

Whether you like all his music or not.. You have to respect his ideology when it comes to music.. That little speech towards the end, describing the greedy record companies who refuse to make even a tiny cut to the price of an album.. So he encourages everyone to steal it.. I've also heard stories of him leaking his own material by dropping flash drives in bathrooms at the shows.. As well as the album releases that contained the individual instrument tracks for fans to remix his music.. His music belongs to the fans, even if we were extorted in the beginning.. He's more than paid us back for the behavior of the greedy Fucks who had to control his creativity.. Compare this to bands like Metallica who whined like little pansies over Napster, and file sharing.. Free access to music is the future, and you can embrace it like a true artist and be excited that people wanna hear what you've created, or whine like a bitch because you'll take a 10% hit in profit and in the end only be worth $100 million as opposed to $400 million.. Trent is not in it just for the money.. you can tell he loves what he's doing.. And he proves it by rewarding his fans.. Just makes me love NIN even more..

In most cases I think you've got to BE a Nine Inch Nails fan to get why Trent Reznor smashing shit, yelling at people and overall trying to destroy everything in his path is funny as hell. Otherwise you'd think him an asshole and those of us that are laughing are all just as crazy as he is...I've been to a few shows, best one was Charlotte, NC, horrible fucking heatwave broken by a rainstorm and they stopped, gave up on idiots on the lawn who didn't wanna move came back on and played through it

What was the guy shouting at 2:58 saying? I heard “head like a hole” but they played the hand that feeds so I think I may have misheard him

I was at the one that starts at 0:39. It was great until I realized he missed the drummer by a foot with the thrown guitar. Still, even with the technical problem, it was the best performance of Terrible Lie I've seen.
