When Hugo and Sonya are involved, the conversation cannot be long enough! It's impossible to get bored, when knowledgeable people are discussing a topic we find interesting! I'm so glad you got together. Please do it again! Perhaps Trenton and Heath can make a little trip to France??🍾✨

It's always good to see some of my favorite KZbinrs collaborating. Feels like coming to a family meetup. One remark on Justin Fitzpatrick's shoes: I especially applaud Justin for his transparency in terms of clarifying what you get from, say, his JF line, but more importantly he tells you exactly what you DON'T get. No marketing fluff, no BS, just straight up: "If X or Y matters to you, you'll have to upgrade to my main line." The only negative thing about the JF line is merely subjective, and that's the fact that the elongated almond shape of most of his lasts isn't as elegant as I'd like it to be. But other than that: Great shoes!

Herring shoes are made by many companies such as Carlos Santos, Barkers, Loake, Cheaney, NPS Solovair etc. Often they are very similar to the manufacturer's own shoes but with a few small changes. A bit like a supermarket that produces its own branded version of products.

Justin Fitzpatrick is just a wonderful, amazing down to earth guy. I don’t know him personally, but he has taken the time to respond and give me advice online via KZbin and I really appreciated this helpful advice. I also appreciate his honesty and straightforward reviews on shoes. Can’t find a nicer guy and his success is just the offshoot from the clear passion he has for shoes and shoemakers. Terrific for him and very well deserved!!

I’m glad you’ve included what countries each brand is made in. One BIG reason I support A-E is that many of their shoes are still made in the USA. There are a few countries that I simply cannot support any longer. We effectively vote with each purchase we make. Great information here in this video. Very enjoyable dialogue.

For an American, with the exception of Allen Edmonds, NONE of these suggested brands are available in any brick and mortar store to actually see, touch, and try on. While that's not your fault, most people aren't comfortable blindly buying $300+ shoes they can't try on first.

Such an informative and pleasant conversation, collaboration over a passion for quality workmanship. Wow, reading Justin FitzPatrick's bio is impressive. Looking at the names of his models, I recognized a lot of names from around Washington State. Sure enough, he's from Seattle, but with substantial time spent in Italy, England (Savile Row), and Spain to learn the craft and launch his brand. How cool.

Meermin has crazy quality control problems and awful customer support, which makes it a terrible brand to buy online. I received a pair of boots from them with a lumpy insole so I returned them, and it took them six weeks to process the exchange. When they finally sent me a replacement, they sent me the exact same lumpy pair that I returned. All in all I spent over three months dealing with them. About a year before that, I tried to get some Chelsea boots from them, and the lasting of the upper was super botched. They do use great materials for the money but not worth the risk at all.

I heard for the first time shoe brands the I’ve never knew and that was Hugo speaking about them, he knows about the shoes but these are videos for grown ups and I just hope the audience is big cause when I go out is just sad to see men and women don’t dress good anymore, men with athletic shoes just because they are expensive doesn’t mean they are good!!!!! But Cobbler Union I highly recommend them, Mermin as well, I’m dying to get me a pair of J Fitzpatrick and I will soon!!! Carlos Santos are a dream of mine!! They didn’t mentioned it but one of my favorites is Salvatore ferragamo but I would like to hear their opinion!!!!
