Well, I made it yesterday and it was a massive success. It's not difficult to make AT ALL thanks to the marvellous directions! Today it tastes even more fantastic ( the caramel got a little messy but as soon as you put the cream decorations on top it really saves the entire thing really) my friends and familly LOVED IT. Thank you so much. This recipe will be a familly thing from now on haha

I just made it and came out DELICIOUS !!! Although the caramel's recipe isn't correct. What you can do to make caramel is to add 1tbsp butter 1 cup sugar After its rich caramel color, add 1 cup cream. And voila. Caramel's ready !!

Do you let the whipped cream cool before putting the caramel? It gets really messy. Whipped cream sticks to the caramel and everything mixes. 😫

First your cake needa to cool down so the whipped cream dont melt. Second, your caranel needs to cool down a little too. If anything is to hot. Its going to make the other one melt and it will mix

Hello your recipe for cake great. I am Turkish but living in Malaysia. So i cant follow classic turkish recipe measurement since i dont have 200 ml glass🤭 luckly has recipe using cups measurement. Btw i use all purpose flour but still nice Thank you

It makes it a lot easier to have that boost of confidence, and I really needed to hear that.😉 I'll be baking this on Christmas Eve afternoon with my 3 older Grand girls. So I will post an update on how it turned out. just made this cake, and everything was amazing!! except...the caramel sauce. Its really tricky to get right!! and in the end after trying to make it 5 times already. i gave up and ate the cake without the caramel sauce

The best way to get the caramel right is to make sure your cream is not cold, this is a trick they don't tell you. So your cream needs to be at room temperature before adding to the sugar otherwise it will harden and you can't work with it. I hope this tip helps.

I'm thinking that "DOUBLE CREAM MILK" is whipping cream, correct? Because that's what you've got listed in the description, but just wanting to make sure. The piping of the whip cream on top with the dragging of the skewer through it makes for a WONDERFUL presentation! I reckon you could use a number of different recipes for the cake, but altogether what you put together sounds great! I would consider maybe using a spring form pan for a more dramatic presentation.

Hi there. I had this wonderful dessert in Istanbul last year and loved it. My question is about the oil. I see some recipes don't use oil or butter in the cake but use more eggs... what is the reason for the oil in your recipe? Is it to give a better balance of flavour or is it for texture. Hello, saw that the question wasn't answered, so I just wanted to give a little thought. Usually oil is added to make a cake a bit moist, and usually the Turkish women (the ones that I had a great pleasure to meet) were adding oil just to make the cake last a little longer (2-3 days). They were making really huge batches. There might be any others reasons for adding oil, but that's my thought. Hope you will get more an authentic answer to your question.

Hi. Nice recipe. I just have a question. I made the same cake with the same recipe and almost the same mold. But my cake shrank a lot and became much more smaller than the mold size after cooling down. Is it normal or I failed some parts?

You can use whipping cream, it has a higher fat percentage than milk which makes the cake tastier 😁

I have tried this recipe many times the cake is awesome 👌 but every time my caramel does not turn out right the first time it turned into hard candy and the second time when I put I to cool down It became hard again I could not put it on the cake so I had to microwave it and there wee caramel chunks in the cake please tell me what to do 😔

It happened to me too. What I did to solve it was: 1. one tbsp of butter with the sugar and heat until caramel color 2. Add the cream 3. It can become hard like candy but now you need patience. On low heat you have to stir and stir, maybe even 20 - 30 minutes. Finally it will dissolve, and if necessary, you can sift the caramal to be sure there are no pieces in it. Good luck!

Double cream is similar to heavy whipping cream if you live in the United States. Double cream is available in British grocery stores.
