Treta means 3 because bull of dharma stand in 3 legs where as dwapar called 2 because bull of dharma stands in 2 legs

I need to tell you two information 1.Treta means 3 as treta yuga is 3 times greater than the time period of a Kali Yuga which is 4,32,000 years it is called as Treta yuga. Which means 3×4,32,000 years or 1kaliyuga= 12,96,000 years or 1treta yuga. So that is why it is called as Treta yuga even though it comes second in a mahayuga following satya or krita yuga since it is 3 times greater than kali yuga. 2. Dvapar means 2 as dvapar yuga is 2 times greater than the time period of a Kali Yuga which is 4,32,000 years it is called as Dvapar yuga. Which means 2×4,32,000 years or 1kaliyuga= 8,64,000 years or 1dvapar yuga. So that is why it is called as Dvapar yuga even though it comes third in a mahayuga following treta yuga since it is 2 times greater than kali yuga.

Alao please note that 432000 years does not mean as it is, we need to consider the archaeological facts as well. As per my knowledge Mahabharat was happened last 5000 years back and Ramayana was happened 12 to 14000 years back.

Lol The Vamana avatar of Vishnu was living in the first part of the Dvaparayuga (when still the Daityas ruled before the Devas took over the rule in that yuga) not in the Tretayuga. The Tretayuga was the yuga of the Jayas (meaning the victotious ones) which were also called "sons of Brahma" which means the first generation of gods. In Tretayuga Varuna was the Indra (meaning king of the gods), in the first part of the Dvaparayuga Bali was the Indra. The Tretayuga was the first yuga of our Mahayuga which didn't reach it's full length. It ended in the great flood which Berossos dated at about 33.500 BC. Though the backwards calculation of Vishnu's three steps through the universe, which means the up and down movement of the constellation Orion in the course of the precession, gives a date at about 36.500 BC. This movement started at the end of the Tretayuga which also ended the Chakchusha Manvantara because this Manu obviously died in that flood and Vaivasvata became the new Manu after the flood. Because a Manvantara is said to last for 71 Mahayugas the end of an Manvantara inside a Mahayuga is an extraordinary thing. But the Rigveda and the Mahabharata say that our Kaliyuga will end when Vishnu has finished his third step which will be the case about 2.400 CE. That means the Dvaparayuga as well as the Kaliyuga are also shorter than expected. According to Berossos the precession cycle of the earth before the flood lasted 43.200 years (12*3600 years or 12 Saroi) while it has now a duration of 25.920 years calculated and 25.800 years astronomically. This increased spead of the precessional movement of the earth together with the increased spin of the earth which changed the duration of the year from 360 days before the flood (as said in the Rigveda and also shown on the calendar on the sungate of Tiahuanacu) to now 365,2422 days is depicted in the Hindu scriptures as "the churning of the milk ocean". Already B.G. Sidharth interpreted this correct as an increasing of the earth rotation in his book The Celestial Key To The Veda.

if i am not wrong, ram incarnated in 24th mahayuga (or 24th tretayuga in this age of vaivasvatha manvanta) and krishna incarnated in 28th mahayuga(or 28th dwapara yuga in this age of vaivasvatha manvanta). so when you saw vishnu incarnated as ram in tretayuga it becomes generalised. so i suggest that you could add it as 24th manvantara

According to Alan Watts the yugas are named after throws in a game of dice. Kali the worst throw of 1, Dvarpara a bad throw of 2, Treta a fair throw of 3, and Krita the best throw of 4.

In hinduism it is known as there are four pillars of dharma , and each one falls after one yuga . Thus satyayuga has all 4 pillars , treta yuga has 3 , making ssense of it's name. Dwaparyuga has 2 pillars thus it has 2 in its name. HOpe this helped you.

Here demons doesnot represent any negative energy rather a being ... Demons which I assume you talk about asuras are son of rishi kashyap and diti and are step brother of devas they posses same power as that of devas even some asuras are more powerful than devas or they did penance to become more powerful than devas .. Only difference between devas and asuras are devas use their power for protection of nature and its subject where as asuras use their power for their sense gratification in cost of nature and their subject ... But if want to see concept of devas and asuras as representation of energy then my only answer regarding that devas and asuras represent positive and negative energy of nature. As nature need both postive and negative force to carry out its work (similar to concept of yin yang where devas represent masuline principle ie yang ie order where as asuras represent feminine principle ie yin ie chaos )and vishnu just create balances between these energy for carry out smooth function by nature .

If treta yuga lasted for 1,296,000 years and dwapar yuga lasted for 8,64,000 years, and Ramayana took place at the end of treta yuga, people say it took place 7000 years ago, and the Kurukshetra war 5000 years ago which also ended the dwapar yuga after lord krishna went to the vaikunth, the gap is just of 2000 years among these and 7000 years ago from now, the kali yuga....So how come the duration of dwapar yuga is 864000 Did I get it all wrong? Can someone please explain? @THE HINDU SAGA
