The next one showed Pierce winded, bearded, and I swear: I could his knees cracking when he walked-jk😉. But, I grew up on Dalton, so, I didn't even give Craig a chance. My* Bond has to be brunette. The few scenes of him that I've seen have been ok, but I'm just stuck on brown hair. Idris has brown hair, so I'm good with that. Dennis Rodman has blonde hair: not good. I'm just wacky that way.😂

When it comes to deciding who plays fictional characters, you have to decide how important race is to that specific character. I don’t think James Bond’s race would really change much about the character, but then there are others characters like Black Panther that would make zero sense if the race was anything other than African. At the end of the day you just have to decide if race is a big deal for the specific character Not gonna lie Idris looks like he would make a bad ass spy

Another thing to consider is that Elba's just getting another of the "White man's hand-me-downs," rather than getting a role that's creative and original in a genuine spy flick that doesn't have a white man as a main lead with some actual cultural relevance. Chris Hemsworth was criticised for Thor, Tom Hiddleston for Loki, Idris Elba for Heimdall, Ben Affleck for Batman, Pattinson for Batman, Christian Bale for Batman, Heath Ledger for Joker, Henry Cavill for Supes, and many, many more. And all of these guys bombed their roles. They were all terrific in the way they handled their characters. @pax north yes me too since Rami Malek is bad guy so Idris Alba make sense . Beside you may not know but there have been real spies during British Empire for British Raj who worked in europe during ww2 , i have heard of few women spies . Now Imagine Indian spies for british Empire in ww2 in europe .

The areas of history I'm most interested in lately is 17th - 18th century in the coastal Indian Ocean area, including of course the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. It's interesting you mention Malek, given that he played Freddie Mercury, who despite having a Persian background, looks like a quintessential 19th century Englishman.

Well if movies are canon to each other, I'd be difficult to explain how Bond turned black lol it makes sense if he takes over the 007 code name if Bond dies. Flip side, they could just make Elba Bond and just go with it.
