people: talking about using indian or native american for natives. me, an indian from india living in america: *confusion*

It’s actually a weird story. So apparently when white people arrived to North America they thought it was India so they called the Natives there Indian. Then the term was kinda used through the years but then Natives were like nahhhh we’re Native not Indian. Sooooo yeah
@mermaidismyname3 жыл бұрын
@@shellie4958 actually that's not really true, many natives still use the word "indian" to refer to themselves, we act like it's a monolith group when there are many different tribes and people with differing opinions so acting like all natives unilaterally decided on something is simplistic at best

It's not just comedy. You get to learn something new. That's called 'Trevor's comedy'.
@danielflora1085 Жыл бұрын
You get to learn a lot of misleading fiction stories. In fact, US have "European American". In particular, Italian and Irish Americans. Greek American are less well known but still... Now, I'm sure there will be a lot of Ukrainian Americans and also Russian Americans. That's due to the same reason that the surge of the self-identification as Greek American happened at the time of the Greek Civil War. But there're so few German Americans, Belgium Americans... Why? Because they have been assimilated so well. Because you can't easily tell them by accent of appearance from majority. Why is there no Anglo Americans? Because that country proved its right to existence as a sovereign nation only after it had a war with British Empire. They just had to give up their national identification in order to become a separate nation. All that Black/Asian/Indian etc. American thing has its own logic and historical reasons. These terms are not the result of somebody's ''ill will'' or some kind of injustice.

He really points out all that’s so wrong with America…..even in the most comical fashion..
@aylbdrmadison1051 Жыл бұрын
@@alfredorubalcava2691 : So why are you afraid to point out what is right? Or more importantly, why are you afraid of people pointing out what is wrong? Pointing out what is right is easy. It takes no courage, no work and no real initiative. Whereas pointing out what is wrong takes courage and compassion. One needs to be unafraid to be introspective and honest with themselves, and that's the hardest thing for people to do. Because it requires one to look at their own issues, and to admit they're not perfect either. We all have our own problems and those problems can be exacerbated or lessened by society. And lessening the burden on the individuals that make up society is the entire point of living in a society. The most interesting thing about your comment, imo, is how you try to make it seem as though Trevor lies, and lies often. But you couldn't even source one of those lies, or even mention one of them. Just a random note for anyone to consider: being a bigot never made anyone honest, because bigotry in all of it's various forms is based solely on unfounded biases (delusions) and unwarranted fears (cowardice). Here are some of the most common forms of bigotry: _classism, racism, nationalism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, monotheism, ableism, ageism,_ and etc. Bigotry is the tool of division the wealthy elite have used for thousands of years to divide and conquer We The People. And all just for their own power, profit, and even entertainment. And yet more than 99% of all humans are oppressed by classism alone, that includes white people too. And bigotry is the root cause of nearly all if humanities self-imposed problems. Bigotry makes the world we all live in less happy, less healthy, and far less safe overall. This harms all of us and everyone we ever claimed to care about. We could instead stand together in solidarity and take back the peace and prosperity denied to humanity for thousands of years. That is exactly why the elite use bigoted idealism to divide us. It's literally the only way they can keep us down, doing their bidding: keep giving them our hard earned wages (wages they refuse to make even livable, let alone comfortable). We the 99% create more than 99% of all the wealth. The 1% steal 50% of the wealth we as a society create, and use that wealth they steal from us to *buy the laws* that allow them to keep stealing more and more of this wealth. Soon it will 60%, then 70%, then 80%, then 90%. At what point will people realize we are *all slaves* for the entertainment of the 1%? We The People have exactly *zero* need for the wealthy elite, and yet they would not and could not exist without US.

If a million people dislike a video, KZbin still promotes such content bc people is interacting with the video, so to them is the same liking it than disliking it. Also it seems pretty naive to think that ppl on the internet wouldn't dislike something without seeing it first, I mean... It's the internet. In case you didn't know when he 1st started out performing in the U.S., Trevor toured with Gabriel Iglesias and a prank by Gabriel led to Trevor getting arrested. Long story short, Gabriel told some highway police that Trevor's paperwork wasn't fully in check and the police took Trevor off Gabriel's tour bus and put him in jail overnight.

I hope Gabriel got bitch slapped by Trevor. Like when Will Smith delivered a light back handed slap to the guy who went in too close for a kiss ?, while pretending he was a journalist.

Dude... it was a joke! Trevor's paper were in order. Just search in KZbin under Gabriel Iglesias and you can hear the whole story directly from Trevor Noah. He is NOT illegally in USA at all!

Interesting. Like they only use the prefixes for people they (whites) deem separate to and less than themselves.
