I agree. I saw him a few times when he was at BU...too bad the team sucked LOL The only thing I'll concede to the "haters" is that his "celebration" when he flipped the puck over the net *was* obnoxious. I've never seen anyone look so bewildered at something that's been done before. It looked...strange. Was that an accident? No..? So...what are you shocked about then? LOL amazing play by an amazing player, but the celly *did* make him look like a bit of a tool. Especially if you know nothing about him...

@@kyerannisbet8895 The covid break disrupted a lot of their momentum but the biggest reason for their collapse was Eakins overthinking things and splitting duos that had great chemistry early on in the season.

@@matthewkabel6246 Eakins has more more year. He saved his job with how good they did this year IMO. So for his sake they better make playoffs this upcoming season. The ducks have a great mix of vets and young guns. So much potential. I hope they give the C to Cam Fowler.

@@davidpitts5851 that start had nothing to do with Eakins. The Ducks thrived on great transition play and rush offense and it was working perfectly but for whatever reason he decided to split up Z and Sonny and put Grant/Deslauriers with Z throughout different parts of the year. Instead of playing to win in regulation Eakins merely played to get a point and advance to OT. He wanted his “safe” players out there (Lundestrom Silfverberg etc) to protect leads when in reality their lack of foot speed and skill cost the Ducks many games as they weren’t able to suppress offensive opportunities from top opposition like Eakins thought they could. Both of those guys are serviceable defensive players when deployed less frequently in that shutdown role. The reason Eakins was brought back is that Verbeek wants to find out more about his coaching methods and study his decisions more closely. He came in during a hectic time last year right before the trade deadline and had to shift all of his focus to trading off the impending UFAs. I hope Cam gets the C as well, he deserves it

He looks better than McDavids rookie year by a mile. The moves this kid does, the top league goalies he pulls them off on, the way he runs through playoff teams defenseman by him self, his shootout success, power play goal success, is insane, if he didn't do as many fancy tricks as he did? He probably would have had 30-40 goals. And 80 points. Alot of his close call goals were because being too fancy. But watching his rookie year just makes your jaw drop, like what can't this kid. 1st year 20 year old do.
