As a bad putter reformed to respectable putter, a couple of tips: -Grip - moving your middle two fingers toward your pointer finger=nose up putt. Moving toward Pinky= nose down. -keep putter within your body frame. Imagine a string from belt buckle to pole and keep the middle of the putter on that line. -To check if your body is in line where you are comfortable. Line up to putt a 25-30ft. Before you start your putt close your eyes. Putt and after open to see if you consistently miss left or right. Use your body to adjust. Once straight take note of your body position to the basket and that should be your stance. (Credit Scott Stokley) -Shake hands with basket and don't put that hand down until the disc stops moving. Helps you understand your release and make adjustments. (Credit Scott Stokley) -I'm a big advocate of slow "back swing" and slight pause before putting. -For stagger stance - allow your back foot to lift directly away from the basket. Don't swing it right or left. Hope this helps 👍

Something Phillip Bartholomew taught me is to aim with your eyes, basically pick a point on the basket to look at and release where your eyes are looking. He also taught me to kind of flick my fingers, to get what i mean grab a putter and kind of grip it like you would putting(disc held with the edge towards the ground) and then shift it in a circle only using your fingers(just a slight movement up and down) and not your wrist

Friendly audio advice. Position your 2 mics as distant from eachother while being close to the subject. The other side of his hat would have solved this doubling issue. Your audio is being captured in your guests microphone and creating a phase issue. You can also solve this by muting guest mic in post when you are speaking. Cheers

Yes-that tip about your hand being too far below your elbow is what I wanted to say. It's hard for you to putt with anyhyzer just bc your elbow is so high.

For me personally, I refined my head game with practicing making putts rather than stretching out too far and missing. Get to 20 feet @ 90 - 100% THEN move out to 25’. Rinse. Repeat. If starting to miss and get frustrated, bring it back in. Repeated success builds confidence into the muscle memory.

We have been waiting so long for this video! Good on ya for putting yourself out there and learning! Play with your timing as well, you move your arm way after your hips. I find exploding into the putt helps me get the pop I need. I think about making my vertical energy move horizontally, if that makes sense. And spin it! Just spin it!!!

So the elbow yank thing, I also struggle with that. Shots coming out hysered. 2 things that I’ve noticed help me with this. You can try to keep wrist even or above elbow as the hand moves forward and up. Clayton mentioned trying to keep wrist and elbow level. Another strategy is to try to keep the crease in your elbow forward and up. This is more helpful if you want to come from low to high. Good luck!

I think there’s 2 things that can really help that I noticed. Might be worth trying out. 1. You bend your elbow a lot in your putt. The more you bend your elbow the more likely you are to pull the disc to the right because when you extend your arm it’s moving to the right. Although a sideways stance might fix that and you’ll be extending your elbow to the basket. 2. I think aim small miss small is important for not only aiming but being confident mentally when you need to adjust your aim point for wind or distance you have more confidence that you’re doing the right thing.

I would consider myself a well above average putter, the staggered stance with your shoulders misaligned creates a pocket and from there you gotta generate the power with the body weight shift and the wrist with good timing. The crazy thing is the putt you’re doing now looks exactly what I do and it’s worked for me so well. I’m glad to see you work out the bad habits. 👍 Btw- My name is Connor and I too go by the Big Con so shout-out to him lol

25:32 The main thing I notice is your hand/wrist position is still VERY push putt and you’re trying to spin it a little more. Use a little more of the “pour the coffee” grip and the wobble will be much less with more natural spin. Open that hand up and leave it open and arm extended until the disc hits the basket. AB’s putt stroke is phenomenal.

Sometimes it just takes someone else giving you a tip on your putt to help tremendously. I was practice putting (not great) before a tournament and one of the guys there mentioned how I angled the putter weird when I pulled it in towards my body and that the putter was never going to make it in the basket. It was an almost instant change for the better once I actively thought about keeping my disc flat on the way in and out on my putt.

Trevor seems to curl his wrist whenever the disc comes down before the throw, and I think that might be an area of inconsistency. It's hard to get the exact same amount of curl each time, and it's a small window of time to try and do something consistent in. I think he should try to keep that wrist curl consistent throughout the pull-back. This could be either by keeping his wrist as actively neutral as he talked about early in the video, or he should set how much wrist curl he wants before the discs gets pulled down.

Trevor I think you forgot one of the most important things about the putt! You gotta think about how your hand finishes, the best putters finish with their palms slightly up, which helps keep an up and down motion, almost like you’re handing the disc to the basket
@murphyd8205
@murphyd8205 4 ай бұрын
You can really tell both on the original ajd new putts, I really think you’re issue is the was you drag the disc right by finishing palm down! Hopefully that makes sense. And when you putt palm up it’s way easier mentally because all you think about is opening up your hand straight up and down!

You bail on your putt is half the problem. Just stick your hand out there and leave it there. Instead of flinging it upward after your release you can make adjustments in alignment and form better when you actually see where your release was.

🙌🏻🙌🏻 Proud of you LOLOL. I can stop leaving fix Trevor’s putting in the comments. Please read the rest 🙏🏻 Personally I think there is too much wrist movement involved when releasing the putt. You have to time it perfectly and though it seems like it’s adding more spin, I think increases wobble unless you release it perfectly. A little is okay, but you can generate spin just by opening your hand towards the target. Take it down with a straighter arm in more of an up and down motion like a push putt, keep the disc on hyzer on the way down without too much wrist bend, then on your upswing rotate the disc from hyzer back to flat while you open your wrist and hand towards the target. The disc will come out flat and inline with the target every time. Then use your weight transfer or momentum, however you choose to do it, generate the power required but make sure to start your weight transfer or push before starting the upswing. Can’t emphasize enough how much a good weight transfer plays a roll in a consistent release and accuracy. His comments about shoulders were spot on. Too square and you have a natural tendency to pull right. You want to have to best angle to let you arm swing freely towards the target. For me personally, hips and shoulders are both around 45 degrees, and front foot around 30 degrees. Having less foot turn away from the basket is okay if you are more of a spin putter. I would say I’m more of a slight spush putter, and putting is the best part of my game by far.

I think hes right with the bailing out of the putt. But a big thing I notice is that once you take the pause, you need to pop it and trust your reps. You look like you're thinking about your putt all the way from your hip to your release. Watch the pros how quick from the hip to the release is, yours is really slow

Your back foot is too far to the right, causes your upper body to over compensate. This brings in more movement and makes it harder for you to be consistent. Bring your back foot further to the left. The feel should be closer to a straddle putt. Obviously still a stagger, but compared to what you're doing now it will definitely feel different. Ricky is the guy I have in mind when I picture that stance.
