I didn't get the job, but overall, it was a positive experience. I believe I performed well, particularly on the tech questions, which comprised about 40% of the interview. There was a strong focus on LP questions, and I felt confident in my responses. While I'll take this experience as an opportunity for personal growth, I'm considering that Amazon might not be the right fit for me at this moment. I want to express my gratitude for the helpful video that aided me in my preparation.

I found you on KZbin and watched your video on "prepping for the Amazon loop" at least three times. It was completely different from all the other KZbin prep videos I found and INCREDIBLY helpful. Out of all the videos I watched, it was by far the most straightforward and constructive. For some reason, it put my mind at ease and broke down how to prepare for the Loop most calmly and concisely. It was invaluable! You said to reach out on LinkedIn if it was helpful, so I wanted to ensure I did. My 5-hour Loop was this past Tuesday, and they called me Friday with my offer! I start at AWS in a few weeks, but I still can't believe it. I can't thank you enough!!!!!! Best regards, Kathlene

@@l0g4nSm1th It went well! I got the job! :D I will start on September 1, 2024. I think what really helped me to succeed was: 1. Learning all the LPs almost by heart and really understanding them. This playlist from CEO Andy Jassy helped kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6qQY2CDrt2Uo7M&ab_channel=InsideAmazon 2. Writing down 10 really good stories and structure them by STAR. Ideally, each story can be used for multiple LPs relevant to the role that you are interviewing for. Give each story a title so that by reading only the title you'll be able to remember the story. 3. Telling each story at least 2 times to a friend, receiving feedback, and refining the stories. Was the story easy to understand? Was it impressive? What part of the story should you focus more on? 4. Writing down all story titles on 1-2 pages and add the relevant LPs. Print the pages and hang them visibly behind your computer so that you can read them if you're blanking on coming up with a good story. 5. Being relaxed and confident because you'll be well prepared. Good luck everyone! :)

I had a virtual panel interview today. It went well. I prepped with watching Munn, the English guy, and I was pretty well prepared. Hopefully I get called for an in-person interview, or I'm hired. The process for me: 1. Apply 2. Take assessments 3. Submit writing sample, a 2-3 page essay, answering a "tell me a time" a questions, using STAR and the Amazon Leadership Principles. 4. A 4 hour long interview by a panel from the Fulfillment Center that posted the job. Again, during my video interview, by way of Amazon Chime, the same or similar questions, like "tell me about yourself," and so on. Not bad.

I had practiced with one of Directors of Product at Amazon my behavioural. He actually recommend to have 4 strong master (big) stories. But, you have to be able to adjust those master stories to 1) all leadership principles and to 2) the question itself. So you have extract only relevant situations/context from those master stories with high relevance to the question and to the leadership principle interviewer wanted to test you by asking this particular question. So the best way - to think about stories and make a list of question relevant to all principles and try to answer those questions based on all of those stories. So you could mix stories from interviewer to intervier to not repeat the same experince to all interviewers in different calls.

Awesome video! Is it common for interviewers to repeat LP questions during the loop interview? For example, if I was asked Customer Obsession and Dive Deep questions during my first interview, should we still prepare for those for the loop? I would say, yes. @@sonalshukla903 Hey thanks for asking. I applied for a SDE 2 position but I didn't get the job. I came from a web background and from a bootcamp so I think I missed the mark a little on their technical requirements. I did great high level and low level design, implemented a bfs in my api for a file system, etc. But I didn't have any experience in concurrent programming which I think hurt my chances the most. It caught me off guard since I was working in JS and there is no way to do concurrent programming... overall it was an okay experience but rather stressful. Hii Trevor, loved your video, I have been scheduled a loop interview and in my prep this has been one of the best advice I've heard! I have a couple questions I hope you don't mind me asking. 1. What advice can you give to a recent graduate that might not have a lot of work experience? My school works with real companies for our projects and we do try to deliver a real project each time but the main purpose of these projects is for us to learn, more than the actual result. 2. In your experience could you give an example of a difficult/tricky question that took you off gourd, and how did you approach said question? (I'm interviewing for a software developer position in Amazon's student program in Mexico) Thank you again for your tips!

Update, I was really nervous when my interview started but after the introduction I really calmed down, my interviewers were really supportive and guided me through all the process. I'd say my behaviour questions went nice and smooth although I wish I would have prepared more for the coding assessments. I managed to finish all of them but the last one really took me off guard, and I struggle to implement what my interviewer wanted. If anyone has any questions about the whole process feel free to ask. I'll post another update once I get an answer. Best of luck to everyone!

@@trevspires Pointless because people are providing false information. Lying. I would prefer to be questioned about my experience in a conversational style because I have seen too many great Amazon employees who did not get the job only because their replies were not in STAR order. How stupid that is! If the people who were interviewing them just asked specific questions they would have gotten the information they needed. At the same time right now I work with a manager at Amazon who is my partner who told me she lied and made up stories to get the job. She is not qualified for the job you know why? As an HR or any other company employee interviewing me try to investigate what I can or cannot do. Ask questions in a regular friendly conversation and try to get specific answers that you need to make the final decision. Ask for references to verify information. Ask questions to filter out liars because when you realize you hired a liar without the skills you were looking for you would spend even more time and money to get another one.
