When your in the middle of a desert you don't get to order in 50 different attachments and tend to get used to just the rifle and maybe a sight. If you collect good boy points you might get a flashlight (don't know why you would ever need one unless your seal team six though), rail covers, or grip but generally you get extremely comfortable with just the barebones rifle. This video is essentially a kid talking about how using a bike with training wheels is the best way to ride a bike. But i can tell you after 1-2 hours of using the rifle that grip isn't going to be so fun to hold on to, and youll want to just pull your hand back. Also throwing on a flashlight, laser pointer, and grip might not seem like a lot of weight but once again, if your using it for extended periods of time it tends to get heavy. I didn't personally dislike it but i can see how some people might.

If you're interested in something more powerful, there are AR-15 designs chambered in 7.62x39 Soviet (same power as .30-.30 Winchester), .300 Blackout (similar to the previous cartridge in power, fantastic when suppressed, more accurate, but slightly more expensive), .458 SOCOM (straight wall cartridge good for deer), and many others. If you want a AR in a familiar cartridge, AR-10s are chambered in. 308 Winchester and even 30.06 (uncommon). Best of luck sir!

I do find it funny. Technically all you do is somewhat limit them. But more than likely the weapon is not even legal so now all civilians who are law abiding basically have a disadvantage which by the way people bitch about. Which I find hilarious. Thats the whole point

@@qbrpluqsy9009 thats the whole point in opposition of more gun laws. Criminals don't follow laws, so why do they think more laws will stop criminals?
@TrenchantAtheist4 жыл бұрын
@@bradhargis2261 Most of the teenagers who shoot up schools get their guns from their law-abiding family members. The idea that all you have to do is "be a criminal" to make money, guns, and drugs appear fails to account for the basic economics and logistics of criminality. If every house on the block legally has the ammunition to level a school, then all it takes is a $0 rock to break a house window to acquire the means to act out another Columbine. If *_none_* of the houses have any such weaponry, then the kid has to (1) acquire thousands of dollars, (2) become adept at navigating the dark web, and (3) use #1 and #2 to access black market guns... and they have to (4) get it right on their first try so they don't pick up FBI or ATF trackers along the way. Another basic way to limit theft: lock your front door. Sure, anyone can learn to pick a lock, and some people are strong enough to kick doors in. But in both cases, the chances of getting caught are exponentially higher than walking through an unlocked front door. Anyone who is sufficiently motivated can get into your house; the biggest deterrent is just making that difficult with easy solutions. Cost-of-entry measures work. Gun control, in theory, is just a cost-of-entry measure to reduce crime. If done right, it's effective because "being a criminal" isn't like clicking your heels together to make money, guns, and drugs appear. Where gun control fails is usually in practice, where uneducated lawmakers make stupid laws for stupid reasons. That doesn't mean gun control isn't a good idea, it just means we need smarter lawmakers.
@Chipwhitley2744 жыл бұрын
@@TrenchantAtheist, Most gun control laws limit both the criminal and the law abiding citizen. But the law abiding citizen is far more common. I would rather have everyone have easy access to effective firearms, because the small percentage of criminals who opportunistically steal their firearms pale in comparison to the abundance of law abiding citizens who would be deterred by heavy regulations, and privacy intrusions. Never mind the more career criminals that do, in fact, obtain illegal firearms through various techniques... and no, the internet is not the only source. And your Straw-man argument that all it takes is a rock to break in a house to acquire firearms doesn't take into consideration that all those armed houses will have people securing their weapons, and defending their property... the stakes are high, and both deterrents increase, and actual resistance increases (if said criminal is not initially deterred), even criminals don't take that lightly. And if those schools had armed individuals... that would also be an effective deterrent, and defense. Lastly, this isn't taking into account that most people with expensive and deadly equipment, will voluntarily take their own effective measures to keep their firearms secure... they already have strong incentives to do so... it is in their best interest to do so. They do not require bureaucracy to implement good practices. Especially a bureaucracy that cannot make effective and fair determinations on what those regulations should be. Never mind the true motive of bureaucrats is to increase their control and profits... not protect the people. I'd argue that it is you who is failing to account for basic economics and logistics of criminality.

I learned from a hypnosis instructor once that people speak at the same rate that they understand, or the same rate that their mind works (sales seminar actually and it was good advice to not talk faster or slower than the person you are attempting to influence) those quick twitch muscles often seem to go with the faster talkers, well I know that's true from paying close attention all these years and this guy is such a fast shooter and talker that it is striking to see such an example of the theory in plain view. You notice his shooting, he doesn't miss much and he doesn't stumble around looking for the right words or throw in lot's of "um", "ah" and filler words that are not needed to get the message across. My point is, I like this kid and I've already learned several usable things from him, I trust his opinion because you can see the great results of his discipline. I like that he spends time teaching and not just competing or showing off, but mainly I like his style, compared to the usually KZbin gun guys, he doesn't waste my time with slow, boring shooting and dim witted speech and attempted crappy humor in place of helpful knowledge that people can actually put to use.

I've watched this video over and over while building my rifles. Thanks for the clear and simple advice. I went with a suppressed 300 blackout for home defense and set it up much like yours. I haven't been able to afford night vision yet but maybe someday. Obviously whatever system you choose practice (rounds down range) is the most important part of the build.

Looking forward to seeing more of your vids. One suggestion. Instead of tape, use Velcro cable ties. You can get 100 of them for about 10 bucks or less. They have a multitude of uses. I've gone through 200+ of them in the past 7 years. if one is not long enough you can easily put 2 or more together to get the length you need. I use them to keep cables. cords, hoses, etc; neatly wrapped up.

I appreciate your NO Bullshit, NO Fluff opinions and discussion on recommended parts and WHY. It is really refreshing to learn that you don't make the guy who needs or wants a "Budget" rifle feel like he is a chickenshit POS because he cannot afford to pump in $1,200.00, $1,500.00 or MORE into a QUALITY gun for SD or HD. If it goes together and hits what you aim at time and time again without stuttering, choking or shitting the bed, well, WTF MORE do you HONESTLY need?!? The Gucci Guy builders who, (more often than not) buy their store-bought guns and end up spending God Awful amounts of $$ are only trying to assuage their egos and project onto others who weren't STOOPID enough to blow excessive amounts of cashola how much "better" their gun is. But the proof is in the pudding and it is the Man behind the Trigger who truly makes the difference. Spending money on training and ammo with a modestly priced rifle is a FAR smarter option. Thanks again for the excellent video and advice. Overnout
