While your doing construction up there you might could get the contractor to see if he could put you some recessed lighting in and another barn door or pocket door closet encompassing the chimney from the bedside table all the way over to the tub divider wall enclosing that space and leaving the space where the door opens as your walkway to the bathroom. Another option now that the door framing is there, you could make that folding door closet deeper to match the depth of the door framing all the way down to the toilet half wall all the way to the ceiling with pocket doors. More storage. Then, get him to cut through the brick over your bathtub and put in some frosted glass for more natural light in the bathroom area. I mean you already have a dusty mess up there. Might as well finish it out right before you paint and trim if you can afford it. Another commenter was right you would have to cut your bigger furniture up in pieces to get it out of your room now because of the chinmey. If you don't use the chimney, you could just bust it out and make a big walkin closet starting behind the door frame across to both walls with a pocket door in the middle to make a walkway in the middle to get to the bathroom. Just suggestions. I like interior design.

Trey, the best thing I ever did for testing out paint colors is to paint a large scrap square or section of drywall. This way if you don't like it you won't have to paint over it in the room...

Had to pause mate before I forget, if there is more sanding get the painters or gyprock's to buy 2 dollar plastic drop sheets to cover your stuff Trey, was doing the trade for 26 years and that's what would do plastic up the whole room, and do you blokes have a local timber yard, maybe someone might be able to make the skirting for you might be cheaper too mate, just a thought 👍

I would bump the closet out to match the door, put a pocket door in and use the door at the top of the stairs for the closet door. You would have a walk in closet and a pocket door at the top of the stairs.

Need to paint your room a lighter color so your room won't look smaller. Also because you don't have much natural light in there. Are you partial to the green in the kitchen? Light grey would look good in there too. It would make the kitchen dining look brighter and open as well.

I painted our bedroom agreeable grey it does look white going on the wall but as soon as it dries it gets darker love the color and the white ceiling and white trim and doors makes it pop that much more

We have sherwin Williams here. They have this paint card with a shape cut in. You put that card on top of the color card you are looking at and it gives you a way better idea of what the color actually looks like on the wall because you can see the contrast from the card with the hole in it

You can buy a little can (1/8 of a can) of the color for $3 or $4 dollars and paint a small section on the wall to see the true color before you commit.
