The most well thought out and implemented racism where the white minority sort to divide and conquer the races, causing animosity among these disadvantaged people. Sad, but the story is the same wherever Europeans and their descendants went the world over. Aborigines in Australia, Native Americans, all Africans basically any place with melanated people has this experience when they encountered them. I think they don't know how to not be like this or have lost the ability to treat others as equals unless they too lack melanin (mela-win). Even though the concept of racial difference is a complete lie, some real things have been built on top of it.
