I watch this show to see the McGhie family trying to tell their Dad how to find dogs and have a swim with the ducks. They are the greatest people ( I dare not call them animals ) . I feel sorry for the little car that has to bounce around negotiating the rough tracks all day , it surely must have strong suspension components . Cheers to Clark and wife and all those black and white children , always happy, always looking for mischief.

These dogs have the best life running the country side hunting as dogs should but with a loving owner who feeds, cares, gives them affection and provides medical care. I have a border collie in the city I sell from home so don't work so she's with me 24/7 and do a lot of agility, scent work, advanced obedience we go to different classes in sports and scent work four times a week and I take her hikes and camping when I can. I still feel guilty sometimes thinking maybe it's not enough for her I would love to live in the country and give her far more freedom but won't happen so I just do as many activities as I can with her she seems perfectly happy when she's curled on sofa or at end of my bed tired from evening hike or training class and with her loyalty to me I don't think she'd be happy if I rehomed her in the country and I couldn't be without her even if it seems selfish

@paulrovere2859 Wise words from a true Aussie bushman.The know nothing shiny bums are all about banning the hunting practices of us rural folks.Like Clark most rural people are natural conservationists who love the wildlife & know best practices.We love our country and need more Clark McGhies to articulate common sense.

I agree Clark down in Vic we still have limited duck hunting but probably not for long but I agree with you on the numbers when I was a kid if we saw a few ducks on a dam it was a novelty not these days there are thousands of them on the farm that I work on we have a dam that's about 90 meters long and about 30 meters wide and around 7 meters deep and there is usually between one to 2 hundred plus ducks on it woodies and black ducks and these greenie dills think that they are endangered yeah right.

We had a shortened season in NZ about 1980s next duck season the Hamilton lake was infected with botch and the greenies blamed the public for feeding pellets mmmm maybe just to many ducks that werent cropped the year before ? No maybes it was too many ducks full stop.

Also the gun i grew up shooting was me grandads Bruno .22, to see thats a similar if not the same age rifle your usin is unreal. Still choose the old mans bruno over many other rifles. Ive put down thousands of roos, big pigs and foxes over the years ive been shooting with the old man. Again, unreal.

I know how busy you are ole boy ‘but I’ve gotta ask because I love the Brno and how accurate it is ,but whats the withthe cut and hole in the forestock or how did it come about,
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry Жыл бұрын
In the times when I was doing large scale control work in thick bush country for Govt and big corporations, at night, I would have a small laser mounted between the scope and barrel, giving me a very accurate red dot in tune with the scope and looping .22 trajectory. The channel was for the wire to the pressure switch. Much of my shooting was off the hip or at odd angles, put the dot on the target, whack.

Did the Black Fellas do fire stick farming, Once a area had been depleted for game and other food sources they’d burn it. As I understand some seed cases are that hard they need fire to crack them open.
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry Жыл бұрын
From what we experienced in the NT, most times they would burn to assist with the hunting. Have seen a fire started to flush out wallabies that then went on to burn for days. Since the first aboriginals came to this land, the flora has changed dramatically due to the increased burning, according to research papers I have read.

Ducks here in my town nz die of botulism, a man made lake . We have duck seasons , not on that lake tho , as it's in town as a park . I think this is going to happen anyway , kulled or not , over population is worse than kulling for sure .

Farming is not easy, and feral creatures are an issue... I often think the "bureaucracy" and the trendsetting woke brigade in this country have no idea of managing our environment... Rabbits, foxes, cane toads to camels - costly mistakes.
