That yellow delivery is ours, I didn't know any history of the car until a friend from Maryland shared that black and white photo, I noticed the St Louis lettering and started searching the name on the door. We got in touch with the family and they sent us all the other pictures. Really cool car with local to us history.

I remember watching this 55 sedan delivery race around the the St. Louis area Drag strips in the mid to late 1960’s. Beautiful race car and fast for it’s time. Some cars you just never forget seeing!

Great stuff! I bought my 210 55 back in 1975 . I bought it for $400.00 complete car drivable! I still own it! I was 15 years old and now I am 63! Crazy right???

Love me a TRI5 at night and I love the cool air. I fried the tops of my pistons there 2 years ago in the middle of the hot high humidity days of august. That Blask kid in that 57 " Bat Outta Hell" won the Bracket Races there more than once. I've seen more than one .00 from him. One of the best drivers off the line. Good dude too.

That 55 at 18:00 , Thats a west coast setup on those spindles. A suspension shop out of Stockton California, if I remember right its Burlingame or something like that. They had a (and still might have) a Jig from the 70s, where you take two Tri5 chevy Spindles to make one lifted spindle by welding them together. It raises the car 5-1/2 inch but pushes the wheel out an inch and a half (as seen on this 55). I have a complete front-end setup like that if anyone is interested. Believe it or not when you use a rack and pinon steering set-up it really drove and steered pretty good.

I contributed to a '55 for several years. It went from a 427 street car all the way to the low tens. I have not seen it since around 1983 and was kind of hoping....., yes I know---a much better chance if I actually came to the event. Thank you for again bringing these cars and memories!

Perfect example of my youth back in the 60s. Bought my first car off the drag strip at 14, no engine, 55' Bel Air 2dr Sedan, rear arched fenders, traction bars, clutch scatter shield, blue tinted windows and head lights, gold paint, hand lettered, M&H slicks, chrome reverse rims rear, white 15" steel's in front, everything below the parking lights was removed except the Moon gas tank & the tow bar, $125.bucks, delivered! It would have fit right in this video but all I have left is the Tow Bar & memories.

My uncle has owned his '56 Sedan Delivery since 1980. He's done other cars over the years, but the 56 will probably be left to his kids. It's seen a couple rebuilds, different colors, but isn't a show car. BTW at 10:42 are those Chevy II taillights IN THE GRILLE?! 😮
