Awesome, thank you! This will be our next home repair project with my kids (16 & 12 yrs old). Shop 101! Also, I did a quick search and found a genuine Tri Star power cord on Amazon for $39.97.

Rob, thanks so much for taking the time to create this very helpful video.A friend has the same vacuum and the cord broke at the same place as yours.Although this is not a difficult repair, it sure is nice to see someone else do it before embarking on it yourself.Great job!

I need to get my older model TriStar cxl how do I access the power cord hook up

I have a cec model. Remove the screw that holds the plastic pig tail holder(the two prong power thing for the floorcsweeper)-- it's really long case screw. The other two screws are probably nested in the curves of the black wheels.

Thank you very much. It costs over 100 to have vacuum repair shop replace a cord. I was able to do myself with your video.

Rob, we purchased a new cord- great price $31 and free shipping! We have started dissembling, Model A101N, just like yours, and we took all the right screws out and the body won't come apart. I'm wondering if the black rubber bumper is glued in for some reason? Appreciate any input you may have!

Hi Lisa it's a very hard fit it need a little pulling to get both parts free the rubber is glue only on the bottom haft .. Best of luck and very glad to see my video come handy for someone ..

Thanks! After tugging and pulling it did kind "popped" apart. A few variations, 1st, we had the twist type wire connectors on our Tri-Star so we just re-used them. It was easier than using a pliers and crimping. Also, we maneuvered the wires just fine without having to cut the zip tie. Your video was so helpful and saved us lots of money and time running to someone else for repairs. I'm so appreciative! Have a great New Year!

I’m not a fix it guy but from what I’ve seen, it could use better connectors, the twist on ones are industry standard according to my licensed contractor friends 🤷🏻♂️ am I wrong?
@tool717 Жыл бұрын
Hey Robert , the connectors are the ones that came with the new power cord in the repair kit .. Your friend might be right idk Anything is possible. I just use what the manufacturer put in repair kit.

Great video!!! Any advice on my problem? My actual power cord is good, but connection inside the wand is not. Where the wires are going up the wand, it sparks every once in a while when working and then stops working. Is there a way to replace this? Does anyone know?

I replace the cord but that still didn't fix my vacuum it keeps shutting off do you know of anything else that we would need to replace?

I paid $2000 for this thing and it was “supposed to” have a lifetime warranty 😤
@tool717 Жыл бұрын
Hey Robert, as far as I know it's a lifetime warranty on the metal body of the vacc ..
