I worked in the courts. I often witnessed solicitors defending criminals who warned them before court that they were in danger of going to prison. I knew that the offences were unlikely to attract a prison sentence. After the cases the defendants profusely thanked the solicitors because they believed the solicitors had 'got them off' . Edward Otley found out in advance how the solicitors and barristers are not acting in the interest of their clients. See the trouble and expense Tommy Robinson is suffering when the expensive barristers making many thousands of £s could use the constitutional Bill of Rights Act 1688 to stop the cases before a court appearance. Wake up folks.

I beg to differ. Ottley is exactly the reason for fire safety rule enforcement. He and Vobes want to pretend that the case is about some inconsequential rules. But the fact is the residents of Home from Home were, thanks to Ottley's incompetence, living in an unsafe building. And the lies Ottley told the inspectors upon their first visit were hardly honorable.

So you think it's "fair and honourable" that a man who endangered the lives of tens of people by ignoring health and safety legislation should be acquitted. On what planet would that be fair and on what planet would ignoring legislation in place to protect people from risk of death be honourable? Oh, wait, I know the answer. Interesting. My jury trial was 50 years ago, lasted 15 minutes, and it was the judge that came to my rescue. 15 minutes in the Judge stopped the prosecuting council and said, "this sounds to me very much like a civil case dressed up to look like a criminal one, I want to see everyone in my chambers". The punishment was the year waiting to be charged and the year waiting to get to court, (which was the Old Bailey btw). The nights of lost sleep etc. In the end it was just a fine, jury discharged, "Ladies and Gentlemen etc I would not like you to think a deal had been done (ha!), but the defendants are guilty of something but not what they were charged with. Despite this I thank him and wish I could remember his name.

I presume that the offences were against the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. That Order states that certain prosecutions are to be brought by the local fire and rescue authority (not by the CPS). So that exposes the first piece of deception in this video that this was a "private prosecution". As for the supposed distinction between trial by jury and jury trial, perhaps Mr Ottely can tell us which version he thinks he had that ended so badly for him, but ended reasonably well for the residents he put in danger.

What an attitude. He implies that it's not a crime because no harm had been caused. You can Google his name to find more information about this. Here's a bit of it: A fire risk assessment of the premises had been undertaken in 2017 by a company appointed by (removed), but it did not factor in the high fire risk of the cladding. It was established that the fire risk assessor had been given inaccurate information by the company about the level of risk. When this became clear, the assessor invalidated the fire risk assessment. Officers from SFRS attended the properties in 2019 and found that the fire risk assessment has not been reviewed and updated as required by legislation under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

This type of interview is undermining the work other people are doing in trying to educate the public as to the importance of authentic trial by jury. The offences were not trifling.. we weren’t told the actual offences, but it’s clear that at least one of them was an either way offence…so this man was entitled to elect a trial by jury in the crown court in any event… so he didn’t achieve anything astounding or difficult by getting the case heard in the crown court… it may even be that the prosecution wanted the matter dealt with in the crown court. The man got a prison sentence… albeit suspended. The company fined £60,000… and he and the company ordered to pay almost £50000 in costs between them. Sounds to me like the advice of the lawyers was correct and he’d have done well to take it! This type of interview is encouraging people to eschew proper representation when the stakes are high for them and they can’t represent themselves effectively. This type of interview is causing more and more people to get in trouble as a consequence and undermining the important educational work that others are trying to do to help us achieve the freedom we seek. It’s so depressing.

@@GoTellTheSpartans24as with everything, some solicitors/ barristers are better than others… they advise… based on the evidence… it’s up to the defendant whether they take that advice. true, there is pressure within the court system to get the cases dealt with as quickly as possible and sometimes pressure for guilty pleas. In the ‘freedom movement’ there is a tendency to believe that all solicitors/ barristers are colluding with the state, speaking a secret language and are part of the agenda to entrap us. I’ve seen countless instances where this view has got people into trouble because they’ve refused the legal representation they need. Sometimes we need experts in the field… that doesn’t mean we blindly follow all their advice. Binding over does not require admission of guilt. See 13 of the criminal procedure rules.

Trial by jury: (from Common Law/Magna Carta) Jury verdicts based on the law, the facts, the evidence, personal judgement of jurors. Jury must be 12 people Jury verdict must be unanimous Jury decides punishment Jury calls witnesses Jury can annul bad laws (jury nullification) Judge just convenes proceedings. Jury Trial: (from French system) Jury verdicts based on law, the facts, the evidence only. Verdict should be unanimous but can be majority. My understanding is that you can elect trial at a crown court . Many may try to avoid this as they are told the sentencing margins are higher at such a court . In general, magistrates court trials less serious cases because it costs less. All cases start at Mags however for the remand hearing. You elect for trial at a magistrates court after which the case is sent to crown . Jury nullification refers to a jury’s deliberate rejection of the evidence or refusal to apply the law, either because the jury wants to send a message about a social issue or because the result dictated by law is contrary to their sense of justice, morality, or fairness. This phenomenon occurs when a jury returns a verdict that contradicts the legal requirements of the case, often due to their moral or ethical objections to the law or its application.

I think you'll find my friend it's the OPSS who regulate the uk construction industry, owners of a building don't have a say in what materials are used when buildings are built. At some point in the past, they happily passed this material off as safe to be used in the construction industry. If anything your questions should be directed to the OPSS asking them where is all the fire safety test data for this cladding material? These tests should of been conducted before any decisions made. I can pretty much guarantee 'IF' they did actually have this fire test data, then they would already know this material is a fire hazard. And yet they still allowed it to be used in buildings. They already knew in my opinion They dont give a toss, clearly, it's all about the money for these companies.

@@RogerRamjet-t4q Now you are talking sense. It's the bottom line and I do not have the answer but consider this. We need the statute law for the good order of society. I use the example of driver traveling at 50mph outside a school. At common law he could not be prosecuted because he has not caused harm or loss to another until he has an accident. Speed limits are necessary but our statute law is being abused as Edward Otley's case proves.. They used a criminal court to prosecute him for offending a statute. It's back to to tier policing. The government and the fire service are not being prosecuted for the Grenfell CRIMES and et the prosecute an easy target like Otley. You appear to know more about the affair than I do. My comments were based on general issues. Regarding your question about rapists being allowed to remain free before trial. I agree that serious offenders should be incarcerated before trial but that is against common law. It brings me back to my statement that the law is the best compromise that we have but the trouble is the stupid people allow the corrupt government to imprison people for speaking their mind. There have always been evil people but the difference today is the stupid people prefer not to learn our real law and refuse to stop the huge amount of child abuse which as a very senior police officer stated on oath," The paedophilia in the establishment is institutionalised". That is why I will keep fighting and using our real law even though it has its faults. Whatever the rights and wrongs of Otley's conduct the more serious real criminals in the Grenfell affair will remain free and the child abusers continue to sexually abuse our children. Join me and learn the real law. Start by learning the difference between lawful and legal.
