It feels almost self evident that when you spawn a structure this close to bedrock, it should spawn from the bottom up so you can set a minimum height limit to avoid cutting through

When I found the seed, I thought it was a trail ruins situation, where the structures are exactly the same between versions. That's why I didnt check when I originally found the seed

The thing you haven't considered though is that if you're really at the point in the game where you want to build with copper, you've probably already found some trial chambers as you played through the game. It really sucks that mining a pretty structure is the more efficient way to get a bunch of copper instead of mining for the ore itself or making a drowned/copper farm. They could make this less egregious by replacing most of the copper blocks in the trial chambers with cut copper. You still have the option to mine copper there if you really want, but it's 4 times less effective (since 1 copper block = 4 cut copper) and you can't turn them back into ingots. There's also a problem with the copper in the trial chambers already being oxidized which saves a LOT of time compared to regular mining or farms if you're planning on building with oxidized copper, but i'm not too sure how they could fix that

Trail Chamber should always be the way to go, only because of the oxidized blocks and the already crafted grates and copper bulbs.

the vines, glow vines, and redstone ore, are all from normal generation, and are different because of the heights. (ores are put on stone even after structures, which can be seen in some other structures too).

Or you can make a drowned farm and get a boat ton of Copper ingots You’ll still need to find at least 1 trail chamber to farm wind charges and for that I will recommend a tnt miner

So, I don't know, but I'm going to suggest that there's at least a possibility that the developers WANT Trial Chambers to be more visible and discernable, especially from the top (since it seems like all the exposed brick is at the top). I wonder if it might be like, if you're just digging down randomly and exploring a cave, you're more likely to see what you've hit and either choose to go in or avoid it. Eh. You know. I'm not convinced since trial chambers should be pretty rare. Regardless, I don't think a few layers of exposed chamber is a bad thing. I quite like it. That mix of exposed and covered looks pretty good IMO.

Expanded idea on "telegraphing" a Trial Chamber: have a Copper Birch (whose wood could be really nifty) right over the entry, and have the trunk go all the way down. Easy elevator. Gets you in the right spot. Then, the trials can be organized so the easier ones are closer to the entrance.

There is probably an ideal length to mine before trying another random spot, i would try 1.41 times the average euclidian distance because Minecraft is better thought of as using Manhattan distances

My favorite part is when loading the up on bedrock on any older world, the trails chambers like to spawn above 0, so you can find multiple chambers that have a good chunk of the top lopped off

Idea for a secondary use of the trial key: once you find one trial chamber, using the leftover keys after opening vaults, you can (somehow, I haven’t thought it through too much) find another trial chamber

As a player that leaves and comes back, I really appreciate these videos, Because i still play like its 2012 and have no clue how any of these things work or the logic to them. Why can i fly now? How do i do it? Oh the strongholds are citys? No theyre separate, oh but the caves are so deep now! Minecraft is so fun to explore but the mining and building mechanics that once took presidency no longer do and how all this new stuff works is so confuseing. Why do we have two bookcases that work entirely different? What is the way to not lose a whole ass village to zombies? Why are there zombies in the water? (You dont recognize the bodys in the water) and how or what are cauldrens used for anymore ??? If you use the ore vein finder on Chunkblock seed map it seems to only show copper and iron, so if you really want some copper then try that.

With how big and common the copper ore deposits are (especially if you're in a dripstone cave or you find an ore vein), I always find plenty enough copper just exploring caves normally. I don't see much point in dismantling the trial chambers for their copper blocks, but then again, I'm also the kind of player who prefers to leave generated structures as intact as possible.

We need to have trial chambers vary in difficulty. We need to have a mix of easy to hard trial chambers so we can decide how much of a challenge we want to experience. I think theyre missing an opportunity to have an insanely hard challenge for late game players with diamond or netherite enchanted gear with potions and golden apples. Being able to kill hordes of mobs like in minecraft dungeons and having a legit reason to carry potions and use the enchanted netherite gear would be fun

I think what would be cool is if they just left the entrance way open. I mean all they really have to do to the model for the entrance is use a corridor of of air blocks in front of the entrance surrounded by structure void blocks on the ceilings and side walls.

weird glitch with Xbox 1 if it's laggy enough when you brake the pot in the trials you will get items and a pot BUT it wont stack with normal crafted ones . you can put it back down and brake it you get loot and you can do it over and over just don't double click it or else when you break it you will get a NORMAL pot

Appreciate the median discussion at the end, but I think that's only one way to frame this. What we really care about is "how much time does it take to get x amount of copper", much less than "how much can you get in an hour". Because you can choose to stop at any time. Or, alternatively "how long does it take you to get into x trial chambers and mine them out and how much copper could you get outside doing normal mining in that same timeframe?" I'm not going to do any of the math to answer those questions. Enjoy!

The trail champer basically takes a useless ore and makes it more useless. What is the point of mining for copper when you're eventually going to find a chamber eventually.

Copper has a use and it's for making sight glasses which is basically a telescope, and you can craft various different blocks and doors that weren't possible beforehand. Update 1.21 has expanded the use of the Copper ore and I hope Mojang adds more minerals later on.

@@camerongodfrey2350 Fair. I highly doubt that someone will mine and deprive the trial chamber of it's Copper but I can't control nor dictate how people play Minecraft. If they want to mine the Copper present within these newly added structures then have at it. I can't make that call for anyone other than myself. I wish that more minerals were introduced because I know that theres way more than just iron, gold, diamond and copper irl. If only Mojang added aluminum, zinc, brass, bronze, silver, vice versa.

I don't understand where the parity issue comes from. Are they doing all the primary development in Java and then porting it to bedrock? or is it these concepts are just easier to do in Java? What about things done in bedrock that apparently are not possible to achieve in java. Or are they simply just not done for historical reasons?

They're two completely different coding languages. They're coded very differently, hence making the generation the same is very difficult.

I don't even know if I would call this a parity "issue". It's another example where the structures aren't exactly the same because the underlying rules around them aren't. So they've placed the anchors in the same general place (the entrance, I assume), and then there are some overarching pieces of logic and code that cause the general layout to be similar, especially at first, but it diverges from there because the size is so large. Other big structures don't generate with the same rules (ie strongholds) so.. this is more parity than normal lol

Yet some things that bedrock does well are not even attempted in java and vice versa. At the end of the day, they are not the same game. With some differences long standing.
