Blimey, I'm 51 and about to have my first kyukoshin lesson in two days...I've held off starting for a few years as I was worried about my age and injuries, but seeing that 78 year old get his 1st dan just goes to show dun it...If I ever start to doubt myself, I'll just think of him...

Very inspirational. I'm taking my Kyokushin Shodan test this Saturday. I dont know how it's going to go. The 10 rounds of Kumite will be tough but I'm going to try my best. This video has me fired up. Osu!

I've done many martial arts. Shotokan, Judo, Aikido, Kyokushin... And none of them do such an impressive work at building a fighting spirit as kyokushin does. Whoever survives a belt exam like this knows 100% that they'll be able to take on any challenge life throws at them.
