Great video, thanks and subbed. I’m a fairly new warden tank but have now cleared all vet dungeons and about to embark on hard modes. I’m running Yol with the Battalion Defender set. I’ve not seen you talk much about that so would love to get your view on it and what you’d switch it out for… bearing in mind I’m looking at hm and still learning my tanking trade! Many thanks 👍

I'm currently working through the gear set reviews, I will have one on Battalion as soon as I can as it's a commonly mentioned set. Personally it's not something I use but I will try it out and review it!

@@TheTankClub Fantastic thanks! I’m trying to create a build that gives as much to the group as possible (selfish tanks seem counterproductive to me and not in the spirit of teamwork) but clearly has to be survivable for those dlc hard modes. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Iv come back after a 4 month break and my first Vet Dungeon was Dread Cel. Picked up the Mechanics really quickly and had a good team with me we did it easy. Worked out there is a good Tank set there and with Stam hitting pretty hard this patch, I’m working on grabbing it but also need to farm Worm and then VDSA for The Puncturing Set, I believe that will be good on the front bar and Oath on the back bar?

If you are running with Stamina then Crimson Oath from Dread Cellar is great. Back bar it, Yolnahkriin on body, Master Weapons would be a good setup.

I use that setup when I need it, it works absolutely fine. It just takes a lot more thought to maintain Yolnahkriin as you need to taunt on back bar once every 15 seconds AND on the front bar for Major/Minor Breach

Could Bani's Torment be a good alternative to Worm Cult? for the Major Maim?

Bani's is one of the better selfish sets since the Major Maim potentially impacts your whole group. Dropping Worm is a huge sustain loss to you however. You can maintain the Major Maim with Frost Clench so you have to look at, are you able to cast Clench every 5 seconds? And is it worth using a 5 piece set to do almost the same thing as 1 skill?

Can u do pa on a main tank as well? Or sax if you're a necro tank with colossus, or a warden with permafrost?

Not very often you can do PA as a Main Tank usually because you are not in range of the group. Sax on a Main Tank can sometimes be useful. I would never use Permafrost to be honest.

Did I see you've got 20k resistances unbuffed? I've always tried to get around the 27k mark, but seeing that is making me rethink my choices..

If you are at 27k unbuffed that means when you gain Major and Minor Resolve that you are sitting on 36k resistances which is 3k over the cap and reaching the resistance cap is almost never something that is essential to do. You can comfortably Tank every Vet trial on 25k buff Resistances

Impossible to know at the moment but this setup has been a standard setup now for well over a year. Next patch will be a dungeon DLC usually and in those DLC we rarely ever had meta Tank gear in the past 4 years.

so you play without the puncturing weapon set? why? it's so good! and im not getting why you want this much magicka really...of course you spam the ignite shield, ok, but isn't the stamina your most important thing?

You cannot regen stamina while blocking. As for DK tank you can cast Ignious shield to recover 990 Stamina. Your heals are also magicka based most of the time. You can use Master S/B with backbar Yolna and light gloves and waist, but don't forget to cast taunt from backbar to uptime minor courage

You can use Masters if you want but it's never been something generically essential for all trials because you can mostly play without it in that environment.

The Galenwe set isn't one I highly advertise because it's not extremely useful. It has limitations regarding the fact it has quite a short range, it requires you to block an awful lot, it can have a high downtime on fights if a boss doesn't hit fast enough, and it also requires your damage dealers to be consistent with their rotation and light attacks to benefit from the buff. All of this is without considering that the Empower buff can be obtained by a Necro using Empowered Grasp and this is often the case in trials from a Necro Off Tank or Healer, in this case using 1 skill is better than using a whole 5 piece set to achieve the same thing.
