You know, I find the complete lack of an attempt to hid the fists in vehicle mode... very charming for some reason. Also, this guy's colour scheme reminds me a lot of Zambot 3.

I am surprised Fansproject hasn't re-released Steel Core considering a bunch of people missed him, he is still a really good third party transformer, and people still want him. The price in the secondary market is way to high still. It is very hard to stay out of the diaclone collecting with this and Takara putting some good looking figures that have a lot potential. I keep telling myself that I have no connection to diaclone and collecting enough lines as it is. Nice transformation at 5:50 by the way!

Does this remind anyone else of Optimal Optimus Prime? Maybe I'm crazy but his torso and the little shoulder wings really remind me of that toy. Maybe they're both paying homage to a common source? Maybe I'm just imagining it.

Hey Vangelus, not sure if you're still replying to comments on this video or not, but there's something I was wondering if you could help me out with considering your "Toy-guro" status with the transforming genre. Essentially, I've been searching for a certain line of toys for years now, the concept is a little fuzzy in my mind, but from what I can remember...they were transforming, mechanical dinosaurs that became vehicles of sorts. I'm unable to recall if the things had "pilots" or not, but it was around the mid 2000's ...possibly 2004-2006 when I remember seeing them. It seemed like the sort of line that'd have a tv show, but I am not sure if it did. The only specific toy one I know of was a yellow dimetrodon...though I'm not sure if that's much help. Looking through the different toylines over Wikipedia and such, I've had no luck; so if you could possibly shed some light on this, I'd be very grateful.

Really nice toy, but none of the reviewers have really commented on how fragile this toy is? Even with the waist fix, what is overall build quality like, I've watched every review out there and nobody has really gone into that very much, it's the SINGLE biggest factor for me on whether I buy something or not. I'm hesitant to buy this cool but expensive bot if it's just going to break again.

Which is sad, because as a HUGE super robot fan, this guy is so cool looking. But I am hesitant to pick it up, with that danger and the big price tag.

There was nothing that felt stand-out enough to point out, beyond the waist. Mine didn't feel particularly fragile, nor enormously tank-like enough to warrant comment.

Do you think the waist fix will hold? I mean if it broke once, what is to stop the replacement part from breaking, given how much force is necessary to combine/separate that section? I really do want to buy one, but I'll wait and see more comments on TFW from folks who have the fix. As much as I like this toy, I can stand to pass because of the waist issue.

The nature of the fix, correcting the plastic's durometer/ability to flex, doesn't have me very worried, but there's no harm in waiting it out to see how things go over time for those who've got one. Also, any later Trianixes will probably (I hope!) have the correct clip installed already.
