Just got a Geissele 11.5 super duty. I really liked the Triarc and was looking at them as well but patients is my biggest issue and the Geissele was available and the Triarc had a pretty significant wait. I really love my Geissele, it shoots lights out but wouldn’t mind getting the Triarc later down the road as well. Thanks for all the great info and if I end up getting a Triarc as well it’ll definitely be the 12.5. Paul

I did the same thing as you. Love my Geissele 11.5 and am ordering the Triarc 12.5 tomorrow. It shoots super flat and is the only 12.5 mid length out there I believe. Both look sick but I dont think you can compare to two to eachother whatsoever. One is like a hardcore milspec gun and the Triarc a Ferrari.

Vltor A5 is not a recoil reduction device as much as it is a device that expands the operating envelope of the platform. Going from hot Ammo/suppressed to frang/ unsuppressed with the same buffer and spring.

I have an 11.5” mid length by Faxon and it’s super reliable and shoots super flat. I’m running an adjustable gas block which you need to run the 11.5 mid without any issues.

I pieced together a BCM 12.5 pistol, with the mcmr. Bought a BCM A5 lower. I have a plethora of parts on hand to get it where I wanted it. Law folder etc. T1 on a larue 1/3. DD fixed sights. Happy with it. It's my travel gun.

Why would anyone get a 13.9 instead of a 14.5 (which could take several MDs that make it 16)? A MD to make a 13.9 at 16” pinned/weld would be super long MD and a waste of barrel length. You gain about 65fps from a 14.5 vs a 13.9.

@@Psalm144.1 If you are using 13.9" barrel that means you will have to PW SF SOCOM Warcomp , Brake or FH to meet 16" OAL . Here is why you would do such a thing if running suppressed. 13.9" barrel means your Threads end at 13.4" . Which means when measuring OAL of Can would start at 13.4" . If you are using 14.5 then it would start at 14" . At 13.7 it would start at 13.2" . I only use YHM Can which are compatible with DA Keymo . Therefore I can do 13.7 with PINNED SOLGW Nox and Keymo adapter. Now I have very compact package even with a Can . I'm saving an 1" on the OAL from 14.5 and and over 2" from 16" This is one of the reasons why people choose to PW muzzle devices on 13.7 or 13.9. 13.7" is the shortest someone can reliably go on mid length gas system . So instead of going with 12.5" AR Pistol . If you are not concerned with 1.2" added why not go with 13.7" with PW Nox . Now you can put that 13.7" on regular AR Lower with an actual stock instead of using in Pistol config with SBA3.. I'm not the best at explaining things so if this seems confusing it's my fault lol

@@seanwhite304 Makes sense. I didn’t think a Surefire Warcomp 3 prong would bring a 13.9” to 16. It never occurred to me. However, I’m pretty sure with the Closed Tine Warcomp the shortest barrel you could go is like a 14.2 or 14.3” unless you add a bunch of shims which is why I was thinking a 14.5” barrel to be safe. Oh well. The open prong flash hiders (except 4 prongs), make a horrible tuning fork noise I personally can’t stand. Even when suppressed which my SCAR heavy is. I can still hear that tuning fork noise. It’s my only gun with that. But I needed that FH mount for the surefire socom.

@@Psalm144.1 that's the whole season why 13.9 even exists is because its 2.6".. People wanted 13.9 instead of 14.5 . The whole reason 13.7 is because of the NOX . I do know Noveske had 13.7 before SOLGW even made 13.7 but I think Noveske used shims .. 13.7 is the shortest to go on Middy . That's why some people dont even bother with SBR or AR Pistol . I loved 12.5 AR pistol until I got 13.7

12.5 Carbine vs 12.5 Middie identical would be helpful and the realistic engagement distance with velocities at the far distances. I want to know is the 12.5 middie just a a fun-gun or a work-gun. Can 12.5 really be a clear a house and then a 600yd gun.

Absolutely yes! The 12.5” is really hard to beat as far as “abilities” it does everything pretty well. You can easily hit stuff out to 600yards and it has better velocities than a 10.5” obviously. One thing to note my Triarc barrels chrono a faster FPS than their traditionally rifled counterparts. Triarc makes a very efficient rifling

13.9 is preferred because of more choices between muzzle devices that will bring it to 16". 13.7 will leave you with less choices in muzzle devices that have a length to bring the barrel to 16".

What 75gn bthp are you shooting to get those velocities? that sounds awfully fast for a 12.5" barrel. I have a 12.5" and a 14.5" both ballistic advantage barrels I havent chrono'd them but beings the box says 2790fps i think i highly doubt im getting 2600fps out of my 12.5"

Hornady Super performance Match. The velocity is one of the benefits of the TRACK rifling. I know some people think it’s a gimmick but the proof is in the data. Better velocities, and tighter projectile seal allowing them to run reduced gas port sizes.

I get the 13.9 is cool if you’re using a specific MD that brings it to 16, but if you’re not set on something like a dead air or warcomp, why not just go to a 14.5 with shorter MD and still have roughly the same overall length, and get a bit more velocity?

There are a lot of variables in that. Different mission sets or goals dictate different gear. Varying muzzle/ barrel combos may give the same OAL but will perform differently. TRIARC's TRACK rifling is showing higher velocity than competitors allowing for similar performance in a smaller package. At the end of the day it really comes down to the ends users preference.

I’m looking at getting a Triarc Systems 13.9 with Vltor System, NP3 BCG, Dead Air Flash hider ,,etc.. and I’m torn on what color to get.. I’ve looked at several of your photos on instagram and even your reviews on KZbin with your 13.9” Black Multicam and Pistol Tricam Desert.. I have considered the Tricam Desert as well as the Peanut Butter Battleworn and like I said, I’m torn on color.. I live in the mountains in East TN where the colors of OD Green, Mossy Green, Coyote Tan, and Grays overlap with the seasons. Any suggestions? Also, now that I’ve seen this 12.5” Pistol review, I may be considering it.. Your thoughts please..?

If you're trying to reach a 16" including muzzle device why not go with the longer barrel? If both are 16 oal then why give up the extra velocity? Only thing I can think of is weight but I can't imagine 0.6" of barrel makes a huge difference. Maybe a mid 13.9 vs a mid 14.5 shoots softer?
