I adore a fresh, sweet cantaloupe. Cantaloupe season in the United States is from June through August, when they are at their peak flavor. They cost roughly $3 a piece here.

Loved your video Naveed and seeing them grow in your country. We have areas in the U.S. that can also grow cantaloupes. Nothing better when they are ripe & sweet.

Hi Naveed, how are you? I really enjoyed seeing you in the field and learning about how you grow foods there in your country. I like cantaloupe as well. Please continue to show us videos about your home life and work life a far as being out in the fields or even showing us your homes, I'm very interested to see your country. Thanks. In Australia, we grow the orange ones and they’re called Rockmelons. We also have smooth pale skinned ones that are green inside, Honey Dew Melons.

It actually looks softer than canteloupe that I get from the store.

Naveed, if someone wants you to send fruits to Australia, I want you to know that it’s not allowed and if you send any fruits, plants or seeds, they will be destroyed. Australia is a big island with unique wildlife, plants and fruits. This means we have to protect our country from things that don’t live and grow here, otherwise our native plants and farming crops could be destroyed. There are insects, pests and diseases that are in other countries but not in Australia so we need to keep it that way by checking everything that arrives here. It’s called Biosecurity.

Thank you, but we in Canada have this fruit as well and all the Americans have it. Not sure about Mexico though. None of us eat the seeds. Thanks anyway.

Naveed America already grow dozens of different type of melons. But most have never tasted a fresh from the garden (ripe). Most are picked early and then continue to ripen at our supermarkets! 🇺🇸💙
