Its just normal people. Nothing more. In today's world many think with the "with us or against us" mentality while there is a beautiful middleground of just saying yeah maybe it isn't for me but you go for it. I don't understand the unnecessary fighting over literally everything nowadays, especially online. Its so useless.

@Ben-rz9cf23 күн бұрын
I think you should have communicated better to them that the band is supposed to be satirical. It is not sincerely portraying or worshipping satanism here, but using satanism as an extreme to tell stories about the truth of human nature as it violates the moral or aesthetic sensibilities of religious hypocrites. The girl is not free to be herself, and told by the society around her, her parents, teachers, etc that she should be shamed for the feelings inside her and that a part of her is wrong. The point is that it is ironic that in this case satan is the only one to love and accept her as she is instead of those supposedly virtuous people who should have.
@synisterintent4 күн бұрын
And that's partly the reason for the anonymity. They're from that part of the world where Black Metal musicians and Satanists actually murder people and burn down churches. It's kinda like making a band who's whole purpose is to make fun of the Hell's Angels.
@Ginger_Monster26 күн бұрын
Cirice is old English word for church. The video includes a few references: Wednesday and Pugsley's talent show performance from "The Addams Family," "Carrie," and Queen's video for "The Miracle" where kids play the band members.

Ghost, Is an interesting band. Many feel it to be a anti Christian or a Satanic band but rather its a parody of the Catholic religion and the hypocrisy its history is. To them, from interpretations is that the Pope of Catholics, and the Catholic religion as a whole from the early years condemned many people for being witches, Satanists, or otherwise "Unclean" in their view to death for daring to challenge or question the Pope. It's more of a rebellion against the religion rather than a complete opposition to it. It's a cloudy and very controversial topic that has been discussed, and if you're not very familiar to the issues, it can be easily seen as "Satanic" or "Anti-Abrahamic" religious.
@baverfjant26 күн бұрын
That is true for a number of Satanic bands, and even most Satanists. They do not actually believe in the existence of Satan. It symbolizes their opposition to organized religion, and how it tries to control people.
@CdFMasterVideo26 күн бұрын
Agreed, and I think the criticism of the church (and puritanism) is the core idea of the song and the clip too: the girl is different from most people, not appealed by the common stuff, and the only people to understand her are the ones who everyone sees as evil, because they are outsiders too. And only once she frees herself from authority does she discover her power that has been held back all this time.
@Wriwnas126 күн бұрын
@@CdFMasterVideo yes, I do not think that Ghost/Tobias Forge is religious, believes in Satan or are anti Chistian. I would never consider Ghost to be a satanic band, far from it. He just questions the status and lies of the church in a daring way that for some is controvertial, as you mentioned. Bhat is something totaly diferent than worshiping Satan or anything like that.
@Atheos125 күн бұрын
not only an anti christian band, but an anti religious band as a whole...lol, what's with the apologetic's?
@baverfjant25 күн бұрын
@Atheos1 What makes you say that? Look up what Tobias Forge himself says about religion. Again, Satanism is often a symbol for rebelling against organized religion controlling people's lives and even governments in some cases. Einar Selvik for instance with a long history in black metal, adheres to Pagan animism. Not Satanism, or even atheism. Now of course there are Satanists who do believe in Satan as a real entity. But they are very, very few in numbers.

"The thing is people should not go against any religion. But it's another thing to make a point." My brother, you have heard The Message clearly, and you get it. Always think about what you hear and what you are told, find the truth or untruth in it, be willing to call out things that seem wrong or harmful, and be kind to yourself and take time to heal if you have been wronged or harmed. The thing I often hear in the fan community is how many have been able to heal from religious trauma as a result of this music. People who have been able to really examine themselves, see that they are good people who live good lives and help others, and the people that told them throughout their childhood that they were evil or something was wrong with them were themselves wrong. Without the cloud of false judgement hanging over them, they can finally, often for the first time in their lives, begin to heal. The appearance of the band and the themes are sinister, but it helps people who were raised in that frame of reference to more easily connect with what's written and helps them, which is not an evil thing, but a beautiful one.

Two notes one this video. It was shot to resemble a style of horror movie that was popular in the 1970's, movies like; Carrie, The Exorcist, The Omen, etc. The actors in the video do such a good job, I didn't realize until the third time I watched it that the band is played by kids. They're dressed as the band, but are obviously school children. I'm not sure if this is meant to depict the band themselves when they were young, or a different group of kids paying homage to the band, as the band is paying homage to the old horror movies. The parents applauding at the end, are the proud parents of the band.

These are precisely the kind of religious people I respect wholeheartedly. They hold to their beliefs, but are smart and open-minded enough that they try to read various possible meanings and don’t immediately assume the worst. Their concern is “does this affect how _I_ worship?” And that is the healthiest way to see it. They don’t even need to know that Ghost is extremely tongue in cheek. They interact with it as art. I love that.
