Green beans, okra dredged in corn meal then fried, sliced home grown tomatoes, cream style sweet corn and corn bread then a tall glass of sweet tea. This was a common meal while I was growing up in Georgia U.S. Our beans most often had ham and I know it's not allowed in some cultures so Cajun spice can make a good substitute. Maybe you used the spices?

It would be interesting to see their reaction to some oddly named (not only to those in Afghanistan but even a number of Americans find the names strange) American foods Ants on a log which is celery sticks that have been cut open that peanut butter can be smeared inside with raisins put on top of the peanut butter. this looks like as the name suggests ants being on a log. Porcupine meatballs which is a dish of ground beef and rice meatballs cooked in tomato sauce. recipes can be found online. may have to show a pic of the porcupine to understand the name of the dish is due to the appearance of the rice sticking out of the meatballs like the animal Salmon and peas. may have to change the variety of fish from salmon but many variations exist online for this traditional dish that predates the founding of the United States.
