You need toast with butter to dip into the egg 🍳

You should explain the way eggs are cooked. Over easy, Over medium, hard boiled, soft boiled, Sunnyside up....that way you don't gross them out when saying half cooked 😂
@MGmirkinАй бұрын
Sunny side up (only fried on one side, other side is runny) Over easy (fried on both sides, yolk still runny) Over medium (fried on both sides, yolk starting to firm up, but still slightly runny in the middle) Over hard (fried on both sides, yolk entirely firm) Hard boiled (boiled in the shell until entire egg is firm, then peeled) Poached (shell is cracked, yolk and whites are boiled together carefully until firm and kind of a single mass) Scrambled (egg whites & yolks are mixed up or whisked together, then fried in a pan, stirring intermittently to kind of break it up as it cooks, so it's a loose pile of cooked egg. Often with milk/cream added, or cheese, or black pepper, etc.)

Personally, I like mine over medium, so the white's are completely cooked, and the yolk is warm but still slightly runny in the middle. That way I can eat the egg by cutting it up with a fork, and can dip my toast and such in the yolk, or mix the yolk into my loose hash browns for a few bites of eggy hash browns, which is better than it sounds [it sound weird., I know, but it's tasty].

Am concerned Sister So is gonna choke on one of those huge bites she takes! Mansoor and sister Sobia the egg is not raw. It has been been fried on a skillet! The yolk is safe to eat!👌👌👌
@vdeserisyАй бұрын
a fried egg with a runny yolk is not half raw. Runny yolks are safe to eat. now runny whites are gross. people who don't like runny yolks just cook them longer or break the yolk
@rhondaflesher8313Ай бұрын
I would have them dip the hash browns in the egg yoke.

As an American I don’t eat “raw” eggs either but alot of people do! Americans and Asians do, but many Americans won’t eat it that way.

My eggs have to be fried hard, flat , with no runny in the middle!!

There would be less confusion in the beginning if you told the the complete name of this dish, which, in English, is completely self-explanatory: Hash brown potatoes.
@MGmirkinАй бұрын
Unless you don't know English, in which case "hash brown" doesn't tell you much, if you don't know what it means. "Hashing" is basically chopping up or grating something relatively finely. "Browning" is cooking something until it turns a brown color. So, "hash brown" is basically a shortened version of "hashed & browned" or "chopped/grated, and cooked until browned."
@mattzukowski1207Ай бұрын
We don't routinely do hash browns in this house since the wife has diabetes. It's not that we don't like it... just very much too high in carbs. We also do over medium which is a little more firm than half fry. I just had 2 over medium eggs on avocado toast with a sliced Roma tomato.

Many ways to make hash browns, and many things called hash browns that are slightly different. Typical hash browns are a loose pile of shredded / grated potatoes, with moisture pressed out, then fried in butter in a pan until the outsides are crispy and the insides are cooked but soft. Then you have kind of "fast food" hash browns which may be more like a triangular biscuit made of pressed shredded potatoes, then that wedge is deep fried as kind of a single piece. Then you have like cubed potatoes fried with butter in a pan, which is sometimes referred to as "hash browns' but is a bit more like cubed potatoes or country potatoes as it's like individual cubes of potato, as opposed to thin shreds. And then sometimes you have like "tater tots" (small coins/balls/cylinders of shredded potatoes, deep-fried) being called "hash browns" (also typically in fast food restaurants).

Runny egg yolks are the best! I love to dip the hash browns and toast in it!

I love hash browns . My mom would make them like tortillas crispy so we could hold them and eat them.

Hello, Auntie. So nice to meet with you again. I've missed you. I like a combination of textures, also, in my meals. I do like soft-cooked egg yolks sometimes. But I mostly eat them hard-cooked. The key to good fried potatoes is to use the freshest oil and have a good temperature. Until later, Auntie.
@ChristaFreeАй бұрын
Need toast to go with it. You can dip either the toast or the hash browns into the egg yolk. It's so good!
@SeanNewhouse-mv9ezАй бұрын
Pan fried several minutes on each side I love with fry sauce, also enjoy with ketchup as well as green taco sauce, hot sauce With a decent side of bacon strips, basted eggs, orange juice and milk I don't consider egg yolk to be raw if it's already cooked and love to cut into it over the potatoes
@terrywall3287Ай бұрын
You need to explain to them that the egg isn't raw! Ask them how they prefer their eggs cooked as restaurants in the U.S. do (and even in our homes cooking for our families we ssk for a preference). There are many ways to cook an egg and everyone has their own preference. Heck, in my family, we change it up and have eggs cooked different ways on different days. Some days I want a fried egg and some days I want it scrambled, and so forth. Auntie would probably like it with the yolk cooked solid or the egg scrambled. Since you were featuring the hash brown potatoes, it wouldn't have hurt to cook the egg to their preference.

I prefer egg yolks set myself. I'm really not a huge fan of eggs anyway. My dad liked his eggs over easy, but not me.
@kevineroseАй бұрын
The store made hash browns are too hard for Auntie. These are easy to make at home. Just shred some potatoes and fry them. Some will be crunchy but you can pull out soft ones for Auntie to eat. She would enjoy that better. Just use a cheese shredder to shred the potato then fry in a small amount of oil until cooked.
@terrywall3287Ай бұрын
It would be nice if you offered them a choice of how to eat them in the basic way: plain with just salt and/or pepper or the ketchup. There are many ways to eat them such as with salsa, but salt/pepper or ketchup are the basic standard ways.

All the Pakistani channels have trouble eating an over easy or sunny side up egg. It's cooked. Japanese will eat raw eggs.
