My opinion: wrong choice of sweets. All the sweets presented here for tasting and reaction are those that are common and familiar to all peoples of North India and Pakistan. What you should have presented here, and which could have made the reaction more interesting would have been a selection of sweets based on: Bengali Sweets like Sandesh, Rajbhog and Rasmalai, South Indian sweets like pAyasam, jAngri, and a few from Western & Central India, like PuranPoli and Modak. Seeing, feeling and tasting such unfamiliar sweets would have made their reactions even more interesting. Not being over-critical here- but I guess you need to think out of the box.

Where I live, people drive two hours to buy beautiful gift boxes of laddu and assorted sweets to give away to guests to celebrate births and marriages. Besan Laddu is my favorite. Those looked pretty good. I wonder what the first one was made of? The pink one looked like a strawberry milkshake.

First dessert sooji halwa is made with semolina, many ways to make it with either water or milk, nuts and raisins are mostly added and saffron which brings the color. The pink drink is called falooda
