Dear Kino Yves I'm Biruk, and I'm from Ethiopia. Your traveling videos are enjoyable and fascinating. I decided to follow your KZbin channel for that reason. A simple inquiry for your safety during your trip to the Ethiopian Mursi tribe. I want to make sure I understand this information for myself because several Ethiopian KZbinrs have told us that you were shot down by armed tribesmen in Ethiopia. I'm worried about your safety. I hope your trip to Kenya is nice and enjoyable. Biruk

Check all his videos and you will find the truth. He was robbed somewhere in Omo, and they took his cameras and his passport. After that he traveled back to France and returned to Ethiopia to continue his journey. Courageous strong man Kino Yves now reached North Kenya. The fact, some Ethiopian political activists who spread false information don't like someone showing the world that Ethiopia is a peaceful country to travel through.

Actually right now a lot of people are struggling in the country with soaring cost of living. Even in Nairobi, once middle class people have lost jobs and slowly being turned into beggars. In that part of the country, the people are more comfortable speaking their mother tongue than Swahili. Yves so far is lucky not to have encountered armed bandits. That guy ‘demanding’ 200/- and most of his food was the closest thing to that, but fortunately he was not violent when Yves refused to give more than he did. Like most Kenyans, we assume every white person is rich, well at least they are richer than us. So if you are in an arid area, with little or no food and most often associated white people with food aid and tourism, you can see how the guy must have perceived Yves. He was definitely more aggressive in his a approach than most of the other people in the video. Maybe the only other person that came close was that old ‘catholic’ lady - Antonella -looking for sponsorship for her kids/grandkids. Emma was more subtle and strategic in her approach and got a pineapple for her troubles while Antonella received her 5 bananas. So far Yves has caught on the fact that he needs to be prepared for more such encounters in future and bought extra food. Wise move. All in all Epic journey being caught on camera!
