White English lady here and I make pav bhaji too! It's so easy to throw together when you know how and great to eat when you're feeling under the weather. I've never had boiled egg with it but I might give it a try next time. 🙂

@@nessiferum6200 The first time I heard of Pav Bhaji was when I saw Rick Stein eating it on one of his trips to India. I thought he was eating cooked mince in a sauce. lol. I looked it up on youtube and now I make it all the time. To be honest it doesn't look that great but it tastes delicious if done right.

Pakistan and India were a single country not that long ago. I thought they knew of each other's food like the back of their hands.

I imagine their fathers or grandfathers would have been more aware of the different foods. However since the cultural / religious differences probably influence the foods they eat when Partition took place (1947) it possibly affected that too.

Maybe because it's very diverse you have over 2000 ethnicities a lot which have different cuisines that's why they may not have knowledge of this I've never heard of it myself

It was never a country. It was a colonial empire. Th British just drew lines on a map to put their flag on the ground but did so without any regard to the sub ethnic states within their boundaries. Prior to the partition the sub continent was actually split by state culture and sub ethnicity. Examples include - Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamilian, Marathi, Kashmiri, Sindhi, etc. all of these states if you will, have their own food contributions, language, cultural norms, etc. India and Pakistan are made up of these sub ethnicities which show you how insanely diverse this part of the world truly is. Imagine if every US state had their own language and culture going back to ancient times...

It's really not there weird, think of it like a spicy more coarse version of mashed potatoes served with buns and a few toppings. It's actually pretty delicious

In college, I used to go to a local Indian restaurant with an Indian friend. What impressed me the most was how rudely we were treated by the owner and the wait staff. My friend said it was because we were two young women without a man.?????

Before 1947 India and Pakistan didn't exist. Before the British raj it was Mughal empire and even before that it was different nations. "India" and "Pakistan" are relatively new.

Getting to catch up on a lot of these recent videos as I am quarantined with Covid. I just wanted to wish all these gentlemen(and all on the other side of the camera) many blessing during their Ramadan, and in their lives in general. I appreciate any chance I get to learn as much about other cultures and the individuals who live them. Much love from the Northwest corner of the US.

Culture is so interesting: my very western intuition would be to use the curry like a jam and coat a bun slice because we hate to risk getting anything on our hands, but their intuition was to treat them like roti, without any hesitation at all.

2:25 Ones, me and friends we had dipping blue cheese with crackers.... And one of us put his whole fingers into the dip 😫..... We order a new one 🙁and he DID IT AGAIN😫.... Thank you 🙏 thank you 🙏 for the tip, there is people who don't know basic rules for sharing... 🙄

Not everyone will be able to name the spices in Hindi like jeera and haldi but we're quite aware of the spices used in curry. You can buy ready made curry sauce from any supermarket in the UK and specialists shops and online you'll be able to get methi leaf and larger supplies of spices. The UK has a lot of Indian influence going back over 120 years
