Traditional Lancashire Hot Pot is made with Succulent "lamb" in a meaty gravy, topped with potatoes that are tender underneath and crisp on top. It's a simple meal that would have been left to cook slowly all day, ready for the hungry cotton workers at the end of their shift.
@denizalgazi Жыл бұрын
I don't think they followed the traditional recipe ingredients (they used chicken) and they probably used too much salt. It's a shame that most of the dishes they try are not genuine at all.
@annettefournier9655 Жыл бұрын
@@denizalgaziThey stated they used beef. I would substitute beef for lamb. #1. Lamb is very expensive here. #2 I don't cate for lamb or mutton. Unless spring lamb rib chops are smoked with mesquite. But then I feel guilty baby lambs had to die. I don't like cell for that reason too. If I had to kill my own food I would be strict vegetarian. 😪

@Deniz Algazi Lancashire Hot Pot can be made with lamb or beef. The producer actually corrected one of the gents and told him it was beef when (maybe Rana or Tahir?) assumed it was chicken after they set the plate in front of him. I suppose it's possible that you missed that in the captions. I don't know if your version of this dish is different from a traditional Lancashire Hot Pot, but what the gents tried looked like (and was described as) exactly what my family has always known it to be. From what I saw on their plates, it had all of the ingredients of the traditional recipe... beef, onions and carrots in a nice beef gravy with thinly sliced crispy browned potatoes on top. And frankly, I don't understand why you'd say that "most of the dishes they try are not genuine at all". I've been watching this channel's videos from just about day one and the food they try has greatly improved from their very early days. Yes... There was a time, when they didn't have the money to hire a chef, but it's been quite a while now that they've actually had a professional preparing the dishes they try and he or she is doing an excellent job at it. Could it be that this is the first time that you've watched one of their videos in a couple of years?

All of these Gentlemen are great Food Critics. They are given different dishes with no expectations of how they will taste. They go into each taste test blind! They test it based on first, if it is aromatic or not. Then when they taste it, you can tell if they like it or not, by their facial expressions. They are truly honest men. They know what they like and what they don’t like. They also have a great sense of humor. I truly enjoy watching these Gentlemen try new and different things. A Fan from Colorado, USA 🇺🇸
